I know that wallot made one to fit the old emaxx tranny. Has anyone made a setup to fit the new emaxx tranny? I think Cowboy may have made something similar for the revo at some point?
I know Wallot made a center diff for the old emaxx tranny using a 1/8 diff, and some different output shafts to achieve the correct length/ posistion inside the tranny. I imagine the same principle would work with the new emaxx tranny; bolt the 2nd gear output gear to the 1/8 diff, find some suitable length output shafts, and shim accordingly to that it sits in the right place within the tranny....
get a truggy :)
the truth is that center diff helped a lot with BL maxx handling.
I dont see any issue using 1/8 diff in new maxx tranny.Make a 2nd speed gear coupler for the diff, custom lenght shafts and you are ready to go.
i actually have standard revo axle stub on one side with 8x12 bearing with few 8x10 shims on the diff cup sitting directly in tranny case and custom leght (made from wheely king shaft) shaft on the other side.
I dont run my maxx much since i got into racing my mugen but it's been holding fine. Only the 8x12 bearing needs replacement once in a while

so center diff helps alot with the emaxx eh? hmm..sounds like it needs to be added on my to buy list. but i think ill wait till i hear more people having them installed in their maxx first.
Looks like the basic idea is here. I need to mock up a new emaxx tranny with the 1/8 diff on top of one of the 2 speed output gears. The diff output shafts can be made out of a modded revo output shaft. Does not look too difficult to do. I will have a machined part made to attach the gear to the diff. No other way to do it, unless I can drill and tap a spur or diff gear.
So my next question is: Is there a metal spur gear, or diff gear that is not hardened and will fit a hpi/ofna diff cup? Maybe a cheaper rtr gear or something off a low level vehicle that will fit? I just know from experience that hardened steel will not be easy to drill, and most likely be impossible to tap...
