Electrical problem?? - 10.16.2005, 05:16 PM

Ok, so I bought a Hitec 3-Ch Aggressor radio. Ran it for the first time with the new BL system, flipped over and messed up the antenna wire so I threw the stock TQ3 back in. Everything was working fine for a while. Then my steering servo quit working. I thought it was a low RX pack so I charge it back up. After 2-3 runs on the fresh charge the steering servo quit working again. I unplugged the RX Pack wire and plugged it back in and the servo worked fine. This keep up for a while and I just keep recharging the Rx pack. Well today the servo quit working completely, even if I unplugged the RX pack and then plugged it back in again. By the way the servo is a Hitec 645mg. Also the shifting servo would perform flawlessly throughout all of this.

What do you guys think my problem is? The RX pack or the servo? or possibly the reciever.

u swap the rx adn tx to see if its the tq3? Check the wires on the servo. What do u mean it doesnt work? It doesnt steer at all? or do u see activity, but very low.

Check what nbc said first. Then try pluging another servo into the same channel to see if its your servo. Then try pluging it into another channel to check.

I need to get another RX for the Aggressor before I can put that back in.

Doesnt work as in doesnt move at all or make a sound when I plug the Rx pack in.

I'm going to try switching channels to see if that works.

Its not hot. It just wont work at all. I plugged it into the 3rd channel spot and well nothing happened, so I guess its safe to say that after 2 yrs of abuse the steering servo has passed away.

I'll guess I throw in that Futuba servo thats pretty close to the 645 for now until I buy another servo.

Next question, $40-70 for a servo what would be your choice? or what's the best out in that price range?

The blue birds are cheap. The under your price range. I don't like them cause of problems on my maxx. I tested out the hitec hs-5955tg today. it was awesome. It is over the price range.

If you can use a radio that has adjustable endpoints, then you should try out the Blue Bird servos. You really can't go wrong with their low cost.

The aggressor had adjustable endpoints. I was looking at the Hitec 5645mg. Any input? Its just the digital version but has a little bit more power.

The 5645 is a pretty decent servo. The JR z650 is also a nice servo in the $50 price range.
