Alright, I've pretty much had enough with the glitching problems I have had when I have tried to use an External BEC. I have tried two so far and both have been terrible.

The first was a cheap $6 unit from Hobbycity, which I can understand I guess. But the second was a CC BEC, in my opinion CC could have done better with this unit.

So now I just ordered a Dimension Engineering SportBEC, please, no body out there tell me that they have had glitching problems with this UBEC!!

This is my setup...

When I ran the Truck ESC I always used the internal BEC, even on 4s. The same exact problem occurred for me that you are having - an external BEC causes glitching with that ESC. Same goes for having an external LVC.

The cheap BECs and the CCBEC did have some noise on the power line during my tests. The DE BEC I tested had none (it was the small one though), so I imagine it's bigger brother would be similar in performance.

A couple things to try is to add a small 1000uF (or higher) 16v capacitor on your unused receiver slot. Also wrapping a turn of the throttle cable through a ferrite donut ring may help too. Your low-level wiring looks well isolated from the high current ones, so that should be fine.

Metalman, which brands of UBEC did you use with your Mtroniks Truck ESC?

I'm hoping you didn't try the Dimension Engineering... if so I might as well cancel the order.

Brian thanks for the post, I did read your review of the ParkBEC, everything sounded good. I have read good things about the SportBEC and that is the reason that I went with it.

I have read posts on here where someone else was fighting glitching with a CC BEC and they tried the cap and ferite ring but it did not help. I am hoping that this DE BEC will not cause problems. I ran this same setup with a Rx pack for several months with zero issues. I just wanted to lighten the load by going with a UBEC.

I did not try the Dimension Engineering BEC. However, I am over that ESC as I've burned up two of them in the past. And not to mention I can't get them any more.

I've had very good luck with this ESC, been running it for about 3 years now with zero problems. Ran it in a Stampede, E-Maxx and now in my 1/8 buggy. I even ran it on 14 cells (over spec).

Anyways, I am really hoping that this UBEC will work without interferrence. If not, I will just hang on to it and pick up a MM someday since I am just running 4s anyways.

whats the large round component between the Rx and ESC? I have a feeling the BEC isnt causing the gliching

that would be a huge capacitor. perhaps moving it may help but the wires have to be short so where else could it go?
why not move the reciever to teh other side?

I would remove the cap entirely, I think it way overkill for no reason, caps store energy and its better to have multiple smaller caps as opposed to a massive one and relocating the Rx to a point further forward and higher would help

I had really bad glitching problems as well with the cc bec. I tried caps. Didn't work. Added a Ferrite ring and haven't had any glitching since. Its well worth the couple bucks.

I don't know what ferrite rings your meant to use, but I bought a bunch of different ones, and all of them made the glitching like a million times worse - I don't know what I was doing wrong.

Anywho, I just dropped the BEC all together and the glitching went away *shrugs*. I was using CCBEC with 4sA123 through a mamba max and a sidewinder, in a bunch of different cars. Tried the rx cap and ferrite rings etc, positioned everything as far away from the rx and antenna as possible, ran 2.4ghz. Those esc's just dont like running with a BEC. I have a shitty turnigy air esc in my revo, and a ccbec basically strapped to the rx and have never had a glitch with it.

The capactior that is there is the one that came with the ESC from the factory, I didn't plan on changing it. I tried moving all of the wiring around and it didn't help at all.

Also, it has to be the UBEC causing the glitching because if I run the car without it... it doesn't glitch.

Sammus I read through your entire thread about your glitching problems... I am very afraid that I may have the same problem. Still really hoping that this Dimension Engineering BEC will work for me though. Should get here this week I hope.
