Anybody else have a problem securing the Monster down with double sided tape?
We are using 3m quality tape ...but it does not seem to stick to the bottom of the Monster......
Any suggestions?
Did you clean off the old sticky residue? I use lighter fluid to get the goo off, then denatured alcohol to clean the lighter fluid off.
Some adhesives seem to need a few minutes to bond right. I use velcro and if I don't let the velcro sit for a few minutes, it tends to come off before the velcro lets go. But, if I give it about 20 minutes, it's on there quite solid.
Velcro seems to work very well for me. And then a zip tie around the ESC and another object secured to the chassis. This method has held up flawlessly through countless hours of running.
Traxxas is coming out with a molded plastic "hold down" part in a bit made for the MMM and it will end up being the best solution to this problem. It screws down on the ESC and seems like it will safely hold it through most all crashes.

i use velcro and 1 zip tie. i mounted it on a "table" that screws to the chassis so I can get a zip tie around it. it is not "clamped" down. with the velcro it can move around a little but never comes loose. i would be really interested to see what traxxas comes up with like a whole new case that bolts down and is water proof:-)
