I'd like to know too. Last time I checked:

1) Billytrucks was one of the good UE sellers/ chopshop guys.
2) Only one other seller sold UE ripoffs, and vanished along time ago (fake suspension arms).
3) Some earlier UE stuff had a bead-blasted finish instead of the natural or polished stuff, so a few people mistakenly thought it was fake.

I would buy from him!!...he is a top notch seller, but those HI's are fakes!...i have several sets and they do not look like the ones he is selling!

Notice the circled area. In authentic arms this area forms a triangle, hugging the inside and outside the whole way unlike the almost oval/rectangle shape seen in fake arms
Notice the red shaded area, in real arms the level difference in this area is cut straight as opposed to curved in fake arms.
Also besides Setbacks all UE arms comes 100% polished, like it was carved rather then machined.

This pic may look like a dint or ding in the metel, but looking at the arm a little closer and it has pitting in a few spots. Witch is cheap alluminum. Also there's rounded shape instead sharp edge. Tk Will427

Well, I'll be buggered. Still, I kinda doubt it is intentional on his part- he is just a chopshop and reseller, so he must have bought a truck made with fake parts and just parted it out- I wouldnt have known the difference without all those highlighted photos...

if they sell at a low price, might be anice bargain for a shelf queen or light-duty truck... *lightbulb moment*

I think you should ask Scott what's up before you really start pointing fingers... He could also be a victim too. As other said before, he buys chops and put the parts for sale. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt.

100% with you on that but that came from the UE'owner himselve.

It's been brought to my attention that Scott Shirley aka:Billytrucks is selling counterfeit Unlimited Engineering items.

We are going to take the necessary action required to protect our name and our intellectual property rights.

If any of you have items you bought from Mr. Shirley and can supply us with address & telephone number that would save me a subpoena to his email provider & ebay and accelerate the process.

Also, for those of you who have bought counterfeit items from Mr. Shirley we would like to get a physical set of these counterfeits along with the documentation of your purchase.

Based on his attitude in communication I had with him today he clearly knows these are counterfeits AND my impression from these conversations is that he has a hand in the manufacturing of these fakes
