Best system for TRX Rustler

I was looking at the feigao 8s and the MGM Compro 80 amp, would this be good, or for the money, could I do better?
I'll be alternating between 6 and 12 cells, yea. I know.

12 cells is quite a bit too much for the 8s. 9 cells would be the limit. For 12 cells, the Feigao 540 12s (or Wanderer, if Mike has that in stock) would be a better motor. I personally run this motor on 3s Lipo, which is 11.1v in my Rustler, and it is an awesome setup. This motor is perfect for 12 cells. On 4s Lipo (14.8v), it pushed my Rustler with 25-26/90 gearing to 56.5mph in a very small space.

and his basic idea was that he wanted to run a 6 cell pack, or just do 2 in series for 12, thus he said 6 cell or 12 cell

There is no motor that will run 6 and 12 cells well, or that should. Could he get 2 motors, and run each for its own number of cells?

Anyhoo, yea.. I may be content with limiting myself at 8-9 cells, It'll still rip pretty good...

You could always go with a basic 3100 or a 3600XL. It would run hot on 12 cells, but decent on 6..

took the advice of others for the 12cell applications - i have a schulze 18.97 and Nemisis 12s in my custom rustler. it is not finished so i havent run it yet. i have been waiting to buy steel output yokes, steel axel stubs/joints, and wanting to buy another FLM gearcase. plus i have been working on my dual BL wild dagger:




i have been very happy with the BL setups i have in my stampedes and rustlers. you also have to remember you may need to strengthen your transmission when you go the big power. all of the vehicles below have the following transmission upgrades: aluminum idler gear, steel top gear, Coldfusion Racing SS diff gear.

A Feigao 8s on 8-9 cells is within its limits, and it would run decently on 6 cells.

joostin, I would recommend that you sell that 18.97kwf (if it isn't being used in another vehicle) and buy something less expensive. The Schulze 18.61k would even work, or you could go with something else. But, believe me, the 18.97 is way overkill.

i would go with a bk 9920. If you ever get bored of Stadiums, then you'll wnat a BL MT. This happened to many members. I rather buy a more versitle esc so you can change thigns up a bit every now and then. Furthermore, its always nice to have the confort of 99amps.

i bought the 18.97 for the 12s application, but i may use my 12.97fe instead to save on weight and space because it has a BEC. i will be able to use my UBEC with my b50 8L instead because i will be running 2 big servos with it - kill 2 birds with one stone ;)

the lehner 5300 on 7-8cells is pretty darn fast! i am interested to see how the 12s is.
