Making a Micro T the RCM way -
07.31.2009, 12:51 PM
I have a micro dt that's been sitting awhile because of lost/broken parts, and I decided that I want to make it into the ultimate micro T. It will be fast, heavy, and RCM approved. It won't be another guy putting a losi brushless system in his mirco t, that's for sure.
I'll post some pics when I make some progress. This might turn into a winter project, but hopefully I get er done soon.
I don't want to give away exactly what i'm doing, but no one has done it before.

I know exactly what you're doing I think... Hmm... wait, that's really impractical... I'll PM you with what I think you're doing. Oh screw it, I'll just say. You're making a DD outrunner setup? That SOB will be fast, BC little outrunners don't come in terribly low KV, unless you plan a 1S setup

Neat little cars. I really liked mine, it was my first "real" RC, but I outgrew it too fast. I sat down one day, looked at the Micro-T, and said to myself "Did I really just spend $400 on this thing!?!?"
They're fun to play with, but too limited in what they can do IMO. As with my subsequent RC cars it was equally or more fun to work on than drive. Sold it just recently so I could buy batteries for my E-Revo.

I've got two micro t's just sitting. One all aluminum and one that has been lightened so much it floats away sometimes. Inspire me to bring them back to life!

so these micro t's can handle power and speeds? i would have thought their diffs would be incinerated.

The diff's need to be shimmed. Without some type of shim they will grind after a few runs on brushless and lipo.

So I got a notice the mail man missed me at my house. It's from china so I have to sign for it. I was home all morning; maybe I was in the shower... I went to the post office to pick it up and the guy told me I can't get it until 3:00 because he still has it in his car. OK. So I start driving home. I pull up to a stoplight and right in front of me is.. A Mail Truck!! So I follow him a short distance until he stops at a mail box and I park in the middle of the road and go show him the slip I got. He said he's not the right mail man. Ahhh, so close! Well, I'm waiting until 3:00 then I'll get my parts from china and post some pics.
