How much dual-lock velcro????? - 08.05.2009, 01:33 AM

I think I have stuck way too much dual-lock velcro in my battery tray / Lipo. I have run a single strip about 1 inch wide along the length of the tray and lipo.

It makes the battery so hard to press down into the tray to lock it in, I'm afraid I'm going to squash the lipo cells.

Is this normal????

thanks

Is it on the side of the lipo? I don't understand, you need to explain the situation with more detail.

No the dual lock is on the battery tray and the bottom of the lipo, how much would you normally use to get the battery not to move?

Wow. You put a ~5" strip in there?! Yeah that's probably too much. Or, you could use about the same except run 3 strips across the width of the tray in F/C/R to support the battery. That way you could press them in one at a time with less pressure.

Sheesh! What do you guys do to your vehicles that would necessitate velcro on the lipo in addition to the hold down straps? I've never run velcro on any lipo and the straps hold them in perfectly fine.

I always velcro but just the regular industrial velcro kind - stops the pack sliding around...

You guys know he means this velcro, right? This stuff is mean! He probably has to use 15# of pressure to get it to snap in.

Yeah I have that stuff too. But sand gets in the fabric side and renders it almost useless. The Dual-lock is very easy to clean out.

Back of RCM trays break out easily without it.
