what truggy roller for my mm/2200 - 08.29.2009, 09:38 PM

I bought a mamba monster / 2200 for one of my e-maxx's but am thinking about getting a truggy roller to put it in instead. would be mainly for bashing but may take it to the track just for fun on practice days. I would like a easy install, either one made for brushless or one with a easy/good conversion kit available. the lhs is very pro losi and has a great 1/8th scale nitro track and it looks like fun but nitro's not for me. before I sink a fortune into a another e-maxx... what is a good truggy roller, easy to put my combo in that is good on a big track? and tough enough to hold up to the power and bashing?

thanks for your input, Ron E.

8ight T because they are durable and IF you happen to break anything there are many parts available.

2. MBX-5T 1520, MMM ON 5S

4. MRX-3 ON ROAD CONVERSION 1512, MMM ON 6S

The conversions are really quite easy...couple of options. Either buy a complete kit which is a bit more work seeing as you have to remove both ends of the truggy and put the whole thing together...which is still easy...or do as most of us here have done...

1. remove old nitro junk
2. remove center diff and replace rear support w/new motor mount/support
3. instally batt. tray...may require drilling a couple of holes
4. mount everything and program esc and done!

This way is very easy and quicker IMO.

2. MBX-5T 1520, MMM ON 5S
3. MBX-5 ONROAD CONVERSION 1515, MMM ON 5S
4. MRX-3 ON ROAD CONVERSION 1512, MMM ON 6S
5. TEN T 2650 T8, MMP ON 3S

I have bought 4 vehicles off of RC Tech. You have to be persistent in your search if you have a particular truggy in mind. I was looking for a mugen mbx-5T for a while and none were around...the all of the sudden 5 appeared w/in 48 hrs. and it was just by luck that I found the one that I wanted.

Good luck w/your search

I can vouch for the XT8 being strong, the only thing I'd upgrade are the rear hub carriers. Then you'll have a rock-solid car that is quick around the track too.

I didn't find the Losi too durable, and the plastics develop slop very quickly.

The MBX5-T is much like the XT8, and is very durable, and still pretty fast round a track.

I haven't had much experience of the RC8T, but Mike does sell a full conversion for it.

Personal favourite is the XT8, but the MBX5-T or RC8-T would be good too.

This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.
