E-Revo wheel nuts getting loose, falling off. Fix?

I have a problem where my wheel nuts (just the 5mm nuts, not hexes) are getting loosened during driving. Finally tonight a wheel fell right off so I really need to fix this.

It seems to happen more on the front wheels, but the back wheels suffer from the issue also. The nuts are flanged nylon-insert lock nuts. The front 23mm hexes now seem to be damaged from driving with the wheels loose (before I noticed the problem of course). I have other hexes that I'm going to install once I get a 23mm hex wrench, so I was just keeping the old ones on until then. Doesn't seem like the hexes would cause this issue. See pics (front hexes only, rears are in perfect condition)

Should I buy new lock nuts and see if that fixes it? Or are there any other issues that could be causing it? The stock axles will soon be replaced by CVDs so I don't know if that will have any effect?

Let's just say hypothetically that I use loctite and it doesn't help. What would be the next thing to look at?

Let me guess: this happens on the left side right? Either way, locktite will cure that. Yeah, locknuts are supposed to keep it from happening, but there is a limit to how much locking effect that a small nylon ring can provide...

Not sure if I've noticed it favoring one side or another. Should have paid more attention. Does it have to do with how the axles are threaded?

I'll get new lock nuts and then loctite them.

No, all the threads are the same; it's a matter of the direction that the tire is spinning in relation to the nut. On the left side, the tire rotation works to loosen the nut, on the right, it works to tighten it.

The blue loctite works for me, but I keep all of them in my pit box.It is a must have

Plus the more times you r/i the nyloc nuts the more worn the nylon becomes. So you should replace them, and use some loctite as well. Green is the strongest, and can be applied to assembled items, but will make it hella difficult to come apart. Red is next, but is usually a bit much as well. Blue is good all-purpose strength, that is what I use.

most people dont realise you can recycle nylock nuts.
you have to get a small round rod and using a small hammer bash the nylon compount back into the nut further.

but i use the traxxas 17mm hexes simpy cause they are cheap and the pin locks in easily.

You can also take your wheelnuts and your dremel and put some angled grooves on the flats of your nuts. This will keep them tight as it gives them a little bite. I had this prob on my revo and this method fixed it on mine. I was out of locktite and tried this.

Get a good wrench and use loctite. Done and done. You can cut grooves, the stock HPI nuts for the savage are like this and works well enough, but those come loose too.
Blue loctite everytime you put on the nut = 99.9999% success.
