Need help regarding Losi Xcelorin 1/10 Sensored - 10.01.2009, 05:31 PM

Hey people,

I converted a nitro rustler over to brushless using a Losi Xcelorin 6.5t Sensored system, however under acceleration its getting this weird surging.

The light on the ESC flashes red which indicates reaching the low voltage cut off point but I know that the batteries are fine as I run them in my E-Revo with an MMM system.

It also seems to want to continue running when no input is given from the tansmitter when it is under heavy load.

Where do you think the problem lies?

Please see the two below videos for clarification.

Thanks,
Jonny

Turn off LVC and see what that does ?

I forgot to mention I tried that, and it still has the problem. The motor has no problems reaching the higher end of the revs as you can see, does this automatically rule out the motor an point to the ESC?

Yes I would lean towards ESC.

First off, I'm a HUGE Losi Fan, I own many Losi Products and hold them in high regard.
BUT, The Exceliron systems suck monkey nutz.
Get it repaired and sell it and buy a Castle combo.
Sorry I'm no help.
My buddys went throught the same crap you are right now and they ultimately dumped them for Castle products.

Good luck !

Thanks for the info :)

Is the Sidewinder system any good? Its a fair bit cheaper than the Mamba but only supprts 2s batteries. On 2s batteries are they very close to each other performance wise? I don't think I'll ever want to run 3s.

Thanks again,
Jonny

hi,
I've read about that/similar problem in a magazine, where they tested a losi speed t w/ 1/10 esc. afaik they solved the problem, I will have a look if I find the article.

can't remember exactely if it was the german "amt" or "cars & details", some months ago. But I DO remember, as I was interested in the 1/8 esc (wich don't have these problems). I'll have a look in the late afternoon (I hope I find it...). A losi Speed-T was on the front page.

jesus, I remember that, but I'm driving my wife insane by asking her "where are my keys? where is my Brain? where is my mind?(pixies)"

FYI, The Sidewinder can do 3s w/no problem providing you are using the 4600KV motor.
5700 or higher, NO 3s. Because the ESC is not rated high enough for the amps and kv combined.

I try to tell what's in the mag I have found:

"... suddenly the esc didn't work. A bulb was flashing, but Motor didn't work. There is a very small button on the on/off swith, with wich you can calibrate the setup between/of transmitter and receiver. you do it as shown in the manual, afterwards it should be working"

maybe that helps.

there is also something written about problems with reverse in profile 2 and 3
