So I had these ready to pull the trigger last night and wondered what you guys thought?? I would normally buy a better set of cells but since it christmas money is tight.

2x #Z26505S-40/9949 ZIPPY Flightmax 2650mAh 5S1P 40C variations = $79.982x #Z40003S-40/9957 ZIPPY Flightmax 4000mAh 3S1P 40C variations = $71.90

What is the balance tabs harness that I saw on a thread the other day so you charge lipos at the same time. I think I found it but it seemed outta stock. Before I did anymore searching I thought I would ask again to make sure....looked for the thread but is this it??

Those 2650's wont cut it at all. The 4K's will do ok.

Nothing wrong with 2x 5s lipos in parallel to make 5300mah, and the 3s ones are fine, though the 30c packs are somewhat cheaper and more proven.

Not that charging connector though, you want something that does the opposite (2x3s > 6s); unless you have a powerful charger (100-150watts) though it wont be quicker to charge two packs at once, you'd be better off charging them seperately or getting another charger; the Thunder Ac6 is only $55 and is the same spec as the $130 Hyperion 606i...

Well that's what I was thinking was that parallel those 5s would suffice. I was reading that the 30c was more reliable and proven actually while researching last nite. I just thought for a few extra bucks a higher constant, but this is excatly why I wanted to run it by you guys first.

Thanks for the link. I own the hyperion 0606i or whatever it is. The single lipo setup.I don't know how powerful this charger is off hand. I haven't even figured out if its capable of charging at a higher rate then 1A. That is a great price on that charger tho so I may get another.

So I think I should just stick to the 3s in the 30c and I think I can fit 5000mah in those. I will check it out.

One last thing. I was looking at castles black friday ad that is still going. I really think the 2200 with 6s is a bit fast and hot hence why I was considering the 5s in parallel which I have found on my mmm in the xt8 is better suited. I was considering getting one of those new castle motors on black friday sale once I saw the thread this morning. I like the size and low KV on the 1717 but don't know about the size. Would this motor be good for my flux to run 6s back to back. Lipo runs and stay cool and still be a bit fast?? Or should I get the 15 series right below it in kv?? Will I have fitment issues? Sorry for all my questions But I have always wanted a MONSTER Motor and this is a expensive purchase for me. Thanks for the suppurt guys.

OR you could just run 4S if your that worried about to much power and also get the castle link to tweak the MMM to your liking. You'd be surprised how fast the stock Flux will run with a good set of 4S, 40mph+ easily on mine with SMC's 6000mAh 28C Lipos 2S

I appreciate the suggestion but the 3s lipos will serve a dual purpose for running in my Blitz and sc10. I will also be converting to a true monster in due time and then the larger motor will really be applicable. In the same respect I dunno which one would be best suited for a xl with larger tires.

DOH! I didn't even look at it in that perspective....yeah, that would be a good setup. And it does look like they will fit as long as the thickness they have on it is somewhat accurate.

5S is the perfect setup on a stock flux. 4S too weak, 6S is a blast, but a little out of control.

If you were to buy a Castle motor, you'd have to get a custom mount made due to the fins on the can. I think Mike built one for someone else a month or so back. I personally dont see any reason to change the stock motor - you can tune it via battery selection and the programming on the MMM.

Be careful with that. If you would use one LiPo more than the other the performance in serie will decrease and the risk will increase. I personally don't recommend it, but when money is tight it's an option. Just be sure to watch the voltages very closely!

Lol, still stuck on that 4s eh?

I run two TP 5400mah 25C 3s lipo's and one has been used a bit more than the other. I upped the LVC to 3.3V if I remember correctly, just to be on the safe(r) side. In my opinion, the more mah the better. Minimum 25C 5000mah is a good idea. Noone likes short run times

Personally I wouldn't use Lipo in a Savage Flux, why use a fragile unstable battery in a car built to have the s#it beaten out of it.

Like building a Submarine with a Screen Door.

Whats so unstable about lipo? Its not like they burst into flames just by looking at them; we've seen dented, ripped and bent packs and cells several times- no explosions as a result. Only time they go thermonuclear is when they are MA cells that are pushed to hard...

Plus, the flux has trays that the lipos sit inside- they arent all that exposed in the event of a crash or flip.

Anywho my wife ordered me the new castle 1520 1y 1600kv for my christmas present. This is the first time she has givin me something RC related. Finally we are making progress in our marraige! I dunno if I will put it in the savy or the xt8 but one thing I'm sure of it will get used. I just thought it was a pretty good deal.

Still have yet to get my lipos. I need to sell a few things...Paypal is drained. Anyone know where I can find the 6s splitter for charging two 3s other the hobbyking who's out.

First get a new charger and then you'll get some use out of that splitter.

Even if you wanted to charge in parallel (as 5S 5300mAh) you could only charge at around 2.5A and it would take 2 hours to charge.

ichargers are just as good, if not better than hyperion. the hyperion in that link has a 250w 10a limit. the icharger has a 300w 20a limit AND is $80 cheaper.

Actually, the Hyperion also does 20A. I planned on getting the 208B first but then read about "connection breakdown" error and figured it just wasn't worth the risk. It's better for you US folks since progressiveRC fixes the warranty issues quickly. :)
