Need opinion deciding on BL Lehner 1950 - 03.19.2006, 01:33 AM

I am going to upgrade my 1/8 buggy BL system.
It was a Hacker Master Comp ESC with Feigao 9L on 12 cells
Up Grading too..
-BK Warrior 12020 esc
-UBEC
-Lehner 1950 BL
I want to run 14 to 16 cells and go to li-poly in the future.
I'm thinking Lehner 1950 5turn.
Need some input guys....
I have the ESC/UBEC already can't seem too decided on motor turn..

Have you considered a 1940? IMO the 1950 is too much for a 1/8 buggy, and even the 1940 would be more than powerful enough. I looked on BK's site, and found that the 1940 8t would probably work best for 14 and 16 cells on a 1/8 buggy. It has a kv of 1959.

A 1950/5 would easily destroy your 12020 esc. Go for a 1940 like Metal Man said.

Nice to meet you!

1940 is more than enough for the 1/8 buggy, but Dafni seem pretty happy with his 1950!

The reason I wanted to go with the Lehner 1950 is the 5mm shaft.
I asked Mike about it and he reccommended the Lehner 1950 6 turn and the BK 12020 esc is fine.. I am just looking for KraZy power, torque, and speed..
The set-up I have now it is Quick 9L on 12 cells geared at 16/46..
Just need to know peoples opinions because you guys know alot.
Any more suggestions. I am open to it.. I Just want to make the right choice.

Yeah, Mike is right, I love the 1950 on my MBX5! I drove it today, and it was awesome.
I have a 6 turn in it, and run it on 14 cells. Temps are awesome, and so is speed and torque. I only wish I had a 120 or 150 amp controller for it. Just to be on a safer side. The 99apm warrior gets warm, but not hot, though.

When the weather gets warmer, I`ll run it on 5S.

But I also agree with mike, a 1940 would be more than enough already.

My Buggy has 12\40 diffs front\rear. And I run a 51t in the center. On 14 cells, with the 1950\6 you can use either a 14, 15 or a 16t pinion without worries. I ran the 15t all weekend, and speed is fine. Runtime and temps too. Altough for a marathon 1 hour a-main I would use the 14.

Yeah, would love to see a pic! Check www.photobucket.com Or you resize it, if you want to use the "attach" button.

I'll just put up one of mine in the meantime. :) Nice and big, with a goofy guy in the background.

And because I'm at Serums' at the moment, and he is such a computer geek, you'll also get a short video from today. Just some pointless running in the woods.

DafBug video

Hope you enjoyed this

Cheers, fellas

Yeah, that's one hell of a buggy..

And Daniel is one hell of a guy too..

You think you look goofy on that pic Daniel? i thought it was meant to look blurry... :p

Look at the front right shock, perhaps that is the reason for its binding, looks like the shock is bent.
