Please check my gear mesh - 03.26.2010, 08:17 PM

When I first installed the motor the gear mesh seemed alright, but now I am second guessing myself. The pinion is 12T and the motor is moved over as far as the mount will allow.

So two questions: Is the gear mesh close enough? And if it isn't, will going up to a 13T pinion be enough of an increase in size to allow proper gear mesh? I could probably go up to 14T if I really had to, but rather stay with 12-13T.

Thanks for looking.

I would say they're too far away from each other. Do you maybe have a picture (in macro mode) from the right or left side of it? I could see more then I think.

Sounds a tick loose Jason.

I retired from RC, now life is all about guns and long range shooting.

I think I'll get a 13T and 14T then just to be safe. 13T would put it at 41mph, 14T at 45mph. The 13T is 1mm larger diameter than the 12T, so hopefully that is enough to close the gap.

Same problem I have with my 777 I'll need to go up a tooth or two.

Little wear on the pinion with the 13 that is in it now.
