Electric Lawn Mower

Looking at electric mowers and wanting to know who has them, which one, and what your opinion is. The three I am looking at are as follows:

Right now I am leaning towards the ryobi because it has the most potential power and has self propelled. My yard has varying grades so the propelled is nice to have.

I am also looking at battery powered weed eaters and edgers. I wish someone made one with the attachments like the gassers have instead of buying two different (or more) machines.

I don't care about the green factor of it all as the cost and real pollution probably ends up the same, but I like the ease of using electric and not storing gas in the garage so I don't have to deal with that. I just wish they came with something besides lead acid batteries, of course that can be remedied some day........

I like the Ryobi-

1) It has a steel deck.
2) It's self-propelled.

Electric mowers, IMO, are meant to be a more convenient option than ICE mowers if you have a yard that isn't too big. An electric mower weighs almost/just as much a gas-powered one, so, if it isn't self-propelled, where's the advantage? You're just trading one inconvenience for another.

Texas I think you should get one of those automatic mowers the good ones use lipo.

I have the Nueton. The design firm I work at created it (ID design / Branding).
I have a 1/4 acre yard, and the battery life can easily make it 40 minutes.

Also, Consumer Reports this month has a write up on mowers.

Pros:
Easily adjusted
Light
Quiet
Powerful
It was free

Cons:
Not self-propelled (man up)
Battery is only good for 1/3 acre
Neighbors think you're a hippy.

I just wish they would use more modern battery technology, yes lead acid is cheaper but come on.

i got the solaris sp21hb 24 volt and it does the job for me, the actual square footage of only lawn in my back yard is aroun 1100 sqft and and the front yard is around 1000 sqft....i can mow both front and back on one charge but it loses a little power near the end of the batt life (lead-acid batts)....i just saw the ryobi 48v and i definitly would have bought that one if i didnt get the solaris a basically 1/3 the price..lol....and i don't like storing gas in my garage either so i also got the whole ryobi cordless electric package (/trimmer, blower, hedge cutter) as well as the drill/sander/router/ saw set..lol...)the batteries are quite powerful (they're lithium-ion) and last a long time...i cam get all my backyard maintenence on 2 batts.....highley recommend the ryobi products :)
