5mm bore, mod1 pitch pinion -
05.19.2006, 05:17 PM
As I understand it Mike is the only fella that sells 5mm bore, mod1 pitch pinion gears. I've been waiting weeks for him to get them in stock and unfortunately its holding up completion of my emaxx. I happen to have an extra UE idler gear if anyone wants to trade for a 20 or 18 tooth pinion gear.
These are the items Im going to purchase. No point in buying though if the pinion is out of stock.
BK Electronics Wanderer "9XL" Brushless Motor
Warrior 9920 Brushless Car Controller
5mm bore, mod1 pitch pinion 18/20 tooth
RC-Monster Brushless Heatsink/clamp
Strobe Slipper Kit w/Bearings
External BEC/UBEC
Nylon 51 tooth spur gear - Ofna
5.5 mm connectors
I was wondering if there is a different BL motor that uses a common pinion gear found at a LHS? Maybe I should just go with a different motor :032:

I just ordered one from starluck - all they had was 14T and smaller. I also have a 20T from Mike. I like the ones Mike makes, they are a little trimmer and fit better in the casing.
I am pretty new at this, but the 9XL is a great motor for the price. I had to wait several weeks for the parts too, but well worth the wait.
I have a similar set up as you:
8XL with heat sink (definitely get the heat sink!)
12020
strobe slipper
UBEC
The 20T gets the controller just a touch on the warm side, so I am waiting for the 18T. If I could re-do it, I would have bought both.
I would suggest waiting, BUT order what is in stock now.

Mike has them coming....if they are not in already, he has to mod them a little and they will be available, hold on, they will be there!
