lightning 2 buggy conversion - 06.02.2006, 01:50 PM

hi all,
im looking at converting my lightning 2 buggy to BL, but ive got a few questions:
1) are there any off the shelf motor mounts?
2)what would be a good setup on 12-14 cells that would get decent runtimes?
3) any other stuff i need to know about converting the car?
4) also would a warrior 9920 work fine with a feigao 10L? and does it have 2 leads from the esc to hook 2 batt's up?
Thanks!
SB

My conversion probably ran me around $600 - $650. The motor was $189, the ESC was $225 and the rest were the FlightPower LiPo's. You can get cheaper LiPo's but I really like FlightPower. Coldfusion, a user on the Radio Control Zone site (Brushless forum), makes a good custom motor mount that you can use. Mike, here on RC-Monster, can build you a custom spur gear mount. You want to run a plastic spur gear if you are not going to run a hardened steel pinion. The hole in the chassis needs to be enlarged for the larger spur gear. The converted buggy runs AWESOME! Very happy with the outcome.
But that's really it. Not much more to do.
Hope that helps.
Matt
