Hey guys I have a mostly Supermaxx truck running on a flat aluminum chassis from New Era models. I am considering a GMaxx carbon Fiber extended chassis but am concerned w/ the ground clearance. I have made this thing an all out sand slinger at the beach but want to now make it as light as possible. Does the lowered stance inhibit the ability to get over obsticles.? Usually run pretty high speed, straight line drags. Will the lower CG help in climbing sand hills.? With a RacerX suspension set to a higher (longer, taller) position can there still be a pretty descent tall stance for all -around sand & general bashing.?
with the g-maxx chassis it enables you to have a low centre of gravity. you can adjust it quite high i think about to 2 1/2" PLUS. so thats good. i use my g-maxx for everything and i set mine to the highest on shock tower, and lowest on arm. and works well. (stock shock tower) (rpm arm). and pull out 2" and i dont have any problems and use 50w on stock springs.
the ext chassis piece helps it for batter stance aswell in air. but also needs a ext body.
I have the Carbon Fiber ext chassis. It's GREAT! very light yet durable, and yes, you can jack it up quite high for what you need. I have mine set real low and still bash with it! I know, i know, but i am the crazy kind! Just ask sjcrss, he knows!
