I'm looking at a brushless sytem for my emaxx. The novak hv4.5 looked good, I had a gtb4.5 in a pede it was very powerfull and no problems, but I have been seeing quite a few threads about people having troubles with the hv system. So I was thinking of getting the mm controller with a feigao 7xl,8xl or 540c 8xl. What is the diff between the 540c and regular 540? Which motor would be best for the e for bashing? More power/speed is best but I don't want to have troubles with the controller. I would like it to be at least as fast as the hv4.5. I am running the 3.3 axles everything else is pretty much stock so if something needs upgraded let me know, my batts are matched ib4200 7cell packs, don't see lipo in the near future. Thanks for any help/suggestions.:032:
A MM with a UBEC on 14 cells should be fine. Id reccomend a Wanderer 8xl with a RCM "XL" heatsink.
The difference between the "C" and regular motors are the "C" motors have finned cans and a screwed on endbell, but the front is epoxied. The reason i reccomend a normal motor with a heatsink is that it is safe both ways since the heatsink covers the front and back, some people had problems with the fronts popping off the C motors.
The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL

MMM / Neu 1512 2.5d/f
Thunderpower 5s 5000
It will be alot better in torque wise, the hv4.5 uses a 380 size rotor, the XL's use a 540 size rotor which automaticlly means it will have more power, it will also run longer.

Just noticed the 10L + 8L motors are cheaper, can they be used also? Would there be a diff in runtime/power?
The "L" motors have less torque than "XL" motors and therefore run hotter and less efficiently(less runtime) in a car the size of an e-maxx. I would go with an "XL" motor for sure; an 8xl as suggested above should do very well on 14 cells.
