How do you mount your MGM?? - 11.15.2007, 10:29 PM

Could you tell me how do you install your MGM controler in your truck?
Can i put the heatsink directly on the chassis or should isolated it from the aluminium chassis?
I can see that they have 4 littles thread holes in the heatsink, can i use it to secure the controler to a an aluminium braket??

Or you just sit it flat on the chassis or a braket and use zip-ties to secure it?

Thank you!

I put one of these where the second motor went. Then servo taped and ziptied it. I mounted it side ways with the heat sinks perpendicular to the chassis. I thought I would get better air flow for cooling like that.

OK thank you! But on my Mugen MBX5, i'll can't use this mount, so i'll simply make an aluminium braket that i'll screw on the center diff plate, and use servo tape and zip-ties.

I've two novak 30mm fan but not sure if i'll install it on my controler. I've the same than yours, a 16018 with a Neu 1515 1Y.

Probably the fan will not be necessary on a 8 lbs buggy

With the voltage and gearing that I am using for about 10 pounds of truck no fans are needed.

So no fan need for me too. I've a 4s setup with the same controler/motor combo than your's, and i'am gear for about 40m/h.

Serum, if i'am right, you've use the thread screw in the heatsink to "screw it" on the aluminium plate, right??
And i can see you have the "cube" version.

But your controler is mount in a place where the airflow seam to be very restrictive, you don't have any heat problem?

Thank you!
