My Muggy Project - 01.08.2008, 08:07 PM

Im plannin on gettin a muggy. Im going to be using the Neu 1521 1.5d or a neu 1527 1y, MGM ESC, and 2 4s Lipos. Does anyone know if the diffs are going to hold or any problems i might come across.
Thanks

Are you going to run 4s2p or 8s? Diffs should last a good amount of time.

so your going to be running either 10s or 8s? or do you mean running them in parallel?
which would increase the mah.

the 16024 will be able to run the 8s fine i would think. you could try throwing a fan on there just to see but if you do not need a fan i would say not to get one. you want your electronics to stay cool because of gearing and all the other ways of keeping cooling down, not fans.

Yea im plannin on runnin 10s or 8s. depends i have 2 4s already so when its done i will be hookin them up 1st 2 see how it runs but if it needs more juice im gettin the 5s. Even if i dont go with the 5s im still gettin the neu 4s 5000mah. for it i like the red and it cant be a bad thing to have a batt and motor by the same company.
This is the controller im plannin on using:
MGM 12032 Car/Boat controller.

As for a fan and keeping it cool. I dont know anything about the MGM contollers so thats why i asked. But yea the fans i use work great. I take an xbox 360 fan attachment(that goes on the back has 3 fans in it.) and use them they are much better than the (novak or AE fans i have used. They really dont even keep your stuff all that cool.) But these fans are great. i have one hooked up to my 4s lipo and it spins so fast lol keeps my MM Esc below 100.

I've look for the Muggy too, but this truck seem to be realy heavy???
Do you know how it,s weight in nitro setup.??
Because this truck is very interesting to convet into brushless, it's between a monster and a truggy, and the best thing about this truck, is the center diff

Thank you!

Nitro Muggy weighs in at 11.4lbs. ,mine may weigh a bit more with 6s lipos.

is the diffs are solid on this Muggy?
Because if i convert one, i'll only run it with a Neu1515 1Y on 4s.

Diffs are same as the LST2, just a different ratio.

Im not really worried about the weight i want to run a neu 1521 1.5d or a 1527 1y. on 8s or 10s. So i really dont see the weight comeing in to be much of a problem. Although i will probly have to make a custom motor mount. Its says a 540 mount has to be custom fabed to fit the 1521 or 1527. I am just going to make my own out of sum 8mm ALM should be plenty strong to hold the motor.
So why would you run the 1515 1y on a 4s in the muggy? it would be nice and all but a
6s would make it that much better. I think the 1515 are a lil small for revos and muggys. Mine works good in my revo but would way rather have the 1521 in it. Im puttin a 1515 1.5d in my crt.5 and my jato 3.3 soon. cant wait to have all my toys brushless.

Send Mike (store and forum owner) an email, and he can make you a custom motor mount for it.
