Great idea Jordan. Does it matter that the 3s pack would be new and probably a different manufacturer?

im not too sure on this, but i think as long as the mah and the C ratings are the same it should be ok. DON'T take my word for it though, im just guessing
Maybe one of the lipo gurus could chime in

If that is true finding a 3s in 4900 mAh is going to be hard to find.

Yes but that was with a plastic chassis and OE diffs. The speed would have been just closer to 40 mph.
The 33 mph is with an FLM chassis, hybrid bulks and 1/8 scale buggy diffs.

Why don't you just gear it back up to 40mph? Have you still not tried to modify the motor mount plate to fit bigger pinions?
It's better to keep batteries used together the same age and use or at least fairly close. Otherwise they could go out of balance easier and the old pack may go below the cutoff voltage while the new pack is still above, so the old pack may be over drawn.
Flightpower does does make 3s 4900's, so they it shouldn't be a problem to get. You could even split a 6s 4900 in half to have two sets of 3s to use with your trakpowers, which is exactly what I've done. Easier to buy 2 3s's though. Funny thing is that the 6s pack is only $5 more than the 5s pack.
Trakpower now has the 3s 4900 hard case packs as well, but I don't really like the wire setup than is shown in the pics. Are your 2s packs the 20c or 25c versions.
Ok, saw the other thread. I wouldn't mix c ratings.

Thanks Patrick. I was hoping you would post. It would be less expensive 1 pinion versus two 3s packs...hmmm....

You need to update your signature.
That looks more like an MMM than a MGM.

Neil just remember that southern american fathers are all heavily armed.
Although I know the marrying age in Louisiana is fairly low two so that could be a bit of a quandary.
Just jacking with both of ya!
mk, e is looking nice with the monster in there. I wish my monster was here working, it is a cruel joke for it to work so well then die. Made me fell all empty inside.

I'll make you feel a little better.
So I take my Monster Neu out for it's maiden run and like everyone has said it is powerful, cool and as smooth as glass until.....
I am going through a powerslide on concrete and the truck slams to a halt, like it hit a wall. I know I did not have the brakes set that hard and I was not applying brake so I started thinking of DickyT.... I walked over to the truck...no smoke but still no power. Well that is good I think. I pop the lid off and @#$&% the on off switch wires are caught between the pinion and spur gear .
Jeesh what a noob. So far not Castle's error just mine for not being careful.

I have it pre-ordered through Tower. I plan on using 6s and the MMM. I may sell the MGM for another MMM.
