Necessity has been called been called the mother of invention but I think in this case it was the ugly cousin of southern engineering(funny considering he's a Yankie). He(CF) sent me one of those(boat) controllers as a warranty unit for a car controller that one of his XLT4 motors fried usumably because he received a big batch of them and none for cars. I cut my losses and e-bayed it. I do everything possible to avoid ever having water anywhere near my electrics; so in addition to having to supply power to a pump, I think its a bad idea whether it is "sealed"(yeah right) or not. And like someone else has already stated, it really just isn't necessary.

Just another ploy to get more money out of folks who don't know any better.

Take the $140, and get a Neu instead. Or what, doesn't want to JB Weld the clutchbell on a nice motor? hahaha Lipos are too small IMO, and the weight balance is bunky.

How does he get his stuff in mags, and who buys this stuff? Clearly we are in the wrong business.

totally agree. I actually have one of those packs (got it for like $60 on ebay) and well it gets warm with my neu 1512 3d (1700kv) let alone a really hot motor.

also I have dealt with cf before, and well after finding this place I will never deal with them again.

I like how he uses motor cooling coils as a radiator of sorts with a fan blowing toward it...[note sarcasm.]

taken directly from the website.

"The burshless motor is water cooled and is setup to use the stock 2-speed Kyosho clutch."

it probably means burstless, which directly affects the lipo pack that's used.

BTW: I always wondered where to get these motor clamps to but electric motors on nitro mounts?
The are available through BK, they use them to mount motors in boats..

I was wondering when someone would post about this on here...and I couldn't agree more with you all. It's just such a stupid and poor setup on so many levels!
It wouldn't be quite so bad if he used a lower-kv, cooler running Feigao, and didn't glue the clutchbell to the pinion. Oh, and not use a gimmicky watercooling setup that could wreak havoc if a pipe split/came off. And if he actually used a car controller instead of a Hydra. And used decent LiPos. And the list goes on! I think I'll stop myself here before I really go on a rant, lol.
