MGM fried immediately -
11.11.2007, 02:34 AM
I have been putting a conversion together for months, and today the mail man brought me the final piece to the puzzle. I unwrapped my new Neu motor from Ray Fuller at Fuller's Fast Electrics, and immediately started to solder and hook it up. Once finished, I checked the programming on the speed controller one last time (Which I had prior set, weeks ago). Next I got my trims and motor direction together, and all was well. The delayed startup in the MGM's settings seemed just the ticket to tame this beast. Turned it all off, and put the wheels on to go and do the famous MGM automatic setup run. When I connected the battery this time though, all I got was a single kick from the motor when it should have armed. Unfortunately, all I got was a flashing red light. ?WTF? So I disconnected it from the battery to try to let it reset itself. I hooked it up, turned on my controller, and then turned on the MGM and was waiting for the arm when smoke started shooting out of both ends fiercely. While I was reaching for the battery connectors to unplug it, the spewing smoke turned into a fireworks show inside the controller. I have never seen such a spectacular display of me losing $400 in my life. I never even got to run it once. Oh well, Mamba Monster Max anyone?

That sucks man, but I know how you feel. I had exactly the same thought run through my mind last wednesday. I own a auto body shop and was pulling in a few cars after a long day. The last one in was a 70 gto that I am restoring. Well the brakes failed and I drove it through the back of my paint building! Needless to say I also hit the 55 gallon drum that all of the waste paint goes in, splat.
All I could do was laugh. And fix the building. and cleanup the waste paint that got on everything. Including me, it burns btw.
Good luck with the mgm, they should be able to get you a new one, eventually.

And the names lincpimp, not licpimp. I take offense to that btw.
You just offended a guy who has a stupid nick-name and a building with no ack wall. How do you feel now?
This is all sarcasm, btw

Serious; there is a warrantee on MGM controllers, so it's not a complete waste of the 400 bucks..

I may need to change my avatar, and have alot of "thought provoking" pictures at hand. However I am sure that this forum has some sort of "decentcy requirements" that i am barely meeting at this time anyway. I would hate to get the boot, as you guys are my only friends. Its hard to make friends when you look like me. And when you are british!

That would greatly depend; some parts of this town actually think it's complete normal to dress up like a female.. It's just a way of life i guess. It's your choice, and if you feel like doing it, who are whe to simple say no.. There must be a deeper movement we can't understand.

Why not dress like a female? Most of the clothes are really nice, soft and form fitting. I have to say that the "plus size" pants really make my butt and thighs look rather slim and attractive. I do need to post pics, maybe tomorrow when my hair is done.

it's something i'll never understand.. The only thing that excites me is opening a bra, but that's because you EXPECT something.. And lets say it's not a hairy chest i expect to see.

Yes I expect something too when I open a bra. Sometimes it is good, and other times you get socks, or some wadded up toilet paper. Usually the chic is so drunk she does not care, and you are too busy trying not to wake your parents up. So I guess it all evens out. I actully dressed up as my buddies girlfriend for Halloween this year, bra and all. I even wore a wig, but stuck to mans underwear, no thong for me. Just thought you might want to know that.

My friend is 27, same age as me. His girlfriend is 22, and very attractive, so needless to say I looked nothing like her. I am sure that one would be very "satisfied" if they opened her bra.

Thankfully, a more logical explanation.
What do personally you think of ant-eater costumes?
