Well I found a new construction site this morning where they are performing the initial site work and I decided to take out my Gevo & my X-Ray and beat the hell out of them on the fresh soil. It started out like every other bash day, good weather, no crowds and open area to myself.. I just finished up completing my XB8 buggy conversion and thought I would try it out first. Well it rolled all of 3’ feet and started to smoke!?? (FIRE) What the hell??... It turns out that my new MGM 12012 controller couldn’t handle 4s and it went up in smoke!..

Now I know how the MMM team feels…
Well screw that!, I'm came prepared so I pulled out my gevo and started down / through the site, the truck is running great, ok at least this is working.. 5 minutes into the bashing the dam thing breaks??.. I'm thinking what the hell??, it turns out that I snapped my rear diff output shaft. Dam it!..
The only bright thing is that since I needed to remove my rear hybrid diffs to make the repairs, it gave me the opportunity to review my gears and my 3905 drive shafts after (4) months of abuse on 6s..
They say that with all negatives you experience there are equal positives that you also experience, lets test that theory..
Negatives:
• Broke two trucks today
• Fried my new MGM controller
Positives:
• Now I'm sending two controllers in to MGM for repairs, so next month I should have a surplus of working controllers. ( 4 MGM & 1 MMM)
• I know that those Hybrid diffs are worth they weight in gold and overall everything is holding up quite well.
• I know that I should have my GEVO up and running by the So Cal bash.
• Mike has the parts I need in stock.
• It’s another opportunity to drink..
Have a great week everybody!..
