It should be 100K for 2pole. I have the 3695 and it only goes to 42K.

I've ran 8XL on 6S as well on an LST... but it probably doesn't get those the rpm limit when under load....

I run a 15l feigao on 5s lipo and have not had any issues, that is around 30k.
Alot of Savage parts for sale!!!

Could it be interference??? I have no idea from what...
Yeah, I would try reprogramming and see if it helps. Does it "glitch" with any of your other motors?

Well I reprogrammed it and no dice. I hooked up an old 9L that I have and it worked fine. I guess the little motor doesn't like the big speed control.
