I didn't play with firmware or settings, but I did boost the voltage to 10 cells (instead of 7), and things work much better. The motor is getting hotter (~200*F!!!!), and this thing is stupid fast, but no more ghosts in the radio. I'm using a UBEC so maybe the voltage from 7 cells was too low and caused receiver issues. All I need now is the proper motor and 3s or 4s lipo.
Thats the problem i'm having with my MBX5-T electric conversion. Its the amp draw. The NIMH cells can't provide the amount of power to the motor that it needs because they can't handle the amp draw the motor needs to reach full potential. Thats why accel. is slow and braking. I bet the temps of the batteries are about 180 degrees + too.
