Yes it does draw more power but you find that you are not as hard on the truck for it runs the speed you need and has the power you want with out drawing the amps. That is what I am saying. Cause if you can hammer on the 12 with out the flip. You going to go easy on the 14 cells for keep your walking down. ;) It is not so much scientific but just relation to driving style change. I get more run time out of 18 cells over the 14 but I don't run it wide open as much.

The problem with nitro's these days are that they arent brushless... LOL
