Hey Speed Assault i've been working on a similar 1/5 scale emaxx based sedan, and i found a way to use legit 5th scale tires without making wheel adapters. We should start getting people psyched on large scales!

Dude that's Sweet ! where's your build ?
Without adaptors, what's your idea ?
From what I have read the 1/5 wheels are about 18mm square. those tiresare super expensive and those guys have races in my area which is where I picked up that Yellow Sedan for free. Tony from Rc tech said that the best time to pick up used tires is end of the season. What places, ideas do you have on getting wheels to fit?

I wish i finished my build, i was planning on changing out my e-maxx tranny for a lower profile style transmission. i have to get back into it, i found some 5th scale part hook ups via http://www.fgsupply.com/cart.cgi?gro...9&movetopage=1 I bought a new body, 5th scale shocks and a few other random things for less than what regular 10th and 8th scale parts cost! the tires i bought were the most expensive part..100 bucks and i don't wanna divulge the wheels i used just yet because i do plan on finishing and having a build thread for it. You'll be the first to know.
Main reason i stopped building is that i got into building my 240sx and went totally nuts with it.

Wow Thank you very much Arct1k and RYU thatnks for the compliments
that's a big help.
I recently found large scale.
When I get a job and have some money I will be upgrading this project or start a bran new one.

Well Tyler Christmas is upon us so hopefully Santa will help us with some parts
Had a tough time with that site, poorly done, lacks pics big time.

I have been searching for tires for awhile and narrowed it to the least expensive
What do you guys think ?
Both sets of 4 are the same size other than the Proline being barely wider
The New Slicks 110mm tall X 43mm more likely to Drift on these than the proline and only $24. to my door by Ebay
Or the Proline Road Rage tires slightly used and could be ok on street hopefully still allow some drift action and be cool on hard pack dirt
I could go with the slicks do to street driving and worry later about dirt tires unless I could accomplish some drift action and dirt action on the same tires. I can't wait to Drift it and drive it at the BMX park !

Here is a link to the cap you need - Just solder it on a couple of short leads close to the battery connections on the MM. I have 3 MM burn up before I started adding these - Since I did I've never had an issue...

As for the fans - these should be ok.

I like the crawler with sound system sweet! Now we need to find a way to get a Bass booming system in a pimped out low rider Rc on Duce Deuces(2.2"). I've thought about running a walkie talkie in a rc vehicle and say things over it to people close to it at the park.

If you want to drift, you will need locked rear diff and tight front diff or even locked.
For tyres, i wouldnt go for any pipe, as you have so much power, so try taping tyres for first run, as with pipe you wont have any traction.
I drive 1/10 drift car, and my setup is soft springs and absorders, and locked rear and tight front diffs.
But you cant race and drift with same setups, it makes other one much harder.
And solid center diff, if you have any.

thanks Jabe
Since I already have locked Front & rear and parts to swap to a diff
What problems will there be for offroad?

Basically I am NOT looking to make a All out Drift car but a Rally car with the motor, power and tires to Allow some slide action when on street

and for future upgrades should I run a Diff in front or front and rear and then what Weight of oil ?

Anybody know what Tire great for Hard pack ?

Just got back from hobby shop, picked up a 13t pinion for the Feigao motor, I was not sure where to start on size but it was all they had for 32 pitch

Eventually I'll go with Neu 1515 or something motor
Thanks every body

ordered some onroad tires from Hobby shop, should be here any day

I'm back ! I got wheels

Help me with suggestions on an ESC !!

I dropped in my Mamba max and 12 nimh cells !
I'd say it maybe goes 22 mph with locked 4wd

so Shopping for a ESC
Mamba monster = only 6s lipo , possible 50 mph with Two 3s lipo 5000
MGM = 10 S lipo max , speeds over 70 mph maybe 80+

Car Weight
7.5 lbs
with Motor no battery 9 lbs
Loaded with 12 Nimh cells 12 lbs

Work To Do:
Motor needs to be lowered onto chassis
Bigger Shocks
Neu motor, not sure which one, maybe 1515
Needs Front Differential or a Xray Trans diff

ESC options:
MMonster
or
MGM 9032 Car/Boat controller 90 Amp

Latest Firmware installed! Future updates via computer download.
New "traditional" style construction with dual heatsinks!
Perhaps the ultimate "big truck" brushless controller! Dual Heatsinks, direct soldered battery and motor leads, 150000 rpm capability( with 2 pole motors), a 90amp capability with up to 32 cells or 10s LIPO packs!Programmable Lipo voltage cutoff, small size. This is among the best controllers available for high voltage brushless applications!

other high power ESC's 100-250 amp

Man thats a very neat conversion. I really am considering to extend my warhead evo into a 1/5 but it would have to be a "trophy truck" look or I wouldnt do it. I figure it would cost me $75 shipped for an fs-racing 1/5 mt body and another $80 shipped for an fs-racing 6061 milled 1/5 flat chassis.
