you know i dint rember the weight, it was useing one max amps 8000mah 11.1v pack, it ran great off of the one pack, the pack stayed below 100*.

as for steering, i just used 2 traxxas 2070 servos and i ended up useing a hoop to conect the two sides of the steering together, it didnt look very nice so i removed it for the pictures, that was the only way to get proper bump steering.

i tryed to build it useing only traxxas parts, that why i used vxl stuff

some things that needed to be done diffrently

1 the chassis need about 5-7* of front kick up
2 i tryed to make the exact same size as a stock rustler, thats just to small to get a proper stearing set up in the truck, try running your servo infront of the front gear box, it will be much easyer and you will only need one servo
3 the extreme shock angle requires much heavyer springs and better shocks
4 if you use hpi rs4 front hubs you will need longer cvds than mip's if you off road it.
5 im not sure if my chassis was thick enuff, sometimes flex is a good thing but two much or to little and it gets twichy. mine was 2.3mm with L chanel reinforcement in the center and on the sides to velcro the body to.


the truck was ballastic, but it was too twichy to get past 60mph

I should beable to get this thing started soon, because Im supposed to be selling my dirtbike on sunday.

right now im either thinking sidewinder 4600 combo's or sidewinder with a couple of feiago 10s's. what would you guys prefer(cost exactly the same).

I think im going to take semi pro's advice and run my servo up front(2070). It really simplifies things but im probably going to have some serious bump steer. the mount seems pretty simple to make too, and it allows me to shorten my wheelbase allittle if I decide I want to do that.

Im also probably going to cuagh up the cash for some of those defiance racing hubs. I dont want to but I'm not really fond of cvd's and after the cost of the HPI set-up and cvds they end up costing about the same.

also weight is going to be well below what I first presumed(9lbs). I weighed the two tranny's, my moabs, both 3s 6400's, reciever, servo(w/linkage) all on top of my CRT's chassis and I came up with 6.2lbs. If castle weights are correct two sidewinder combos will weigh 19 ounces, so im looking at a truck that will end up a little less than 7.75 pounds. If I can get away with running one battery I can drop that by 18 ounces, so it could weigh in around 6.5 pounds.

Down the road I would like to buy a 30c neu 5000 so I can really make sure I can run one battery. My 6400's have a ton of runs and are VERY TIRED, so Im probably going to just run both until I can upgrade.
