The "best" 380 or smaller motor (rc18)

In a Recoil those 28mm fit, but still a little too big for them. There's no need to go that big in a RC18. The 180 size motors do tend to get hot, I've raced against people who uses them and some got so hot that they smelled like banaid due to the sticker almost melting off.

I was wondering how hacker and hyperion motors stack up against Lehner, Neu and Medusa. (And against mambas) It seems neu and medusa are kind of out because of size constraints, and Lehner is perhaps a little "too" perfect at $150 (although the 1020/15) looks like a perfect motor.)

The Hacker E30-L and Hyperion Y-22 appear to be perfect, but of course they are a lot cheaper so I imagine the quality is a lower.

The Hyperions are nice. I used to have the YC-22-5000 in my MLST, but I've been testing my 6000Kv in it. The problem I have with the micro motors currently available is the shaft size. I've broken my fair share of shaft and this is the reason my motors will have standard 1/8" (3.17mm) shafts.

Thanks for the vid, that was pretty informative. And nice 18R setup.

I've got a Wraith7k in my 18T which I THINK is the same size as a Feigao 280S motor. So: 24mm diameter and 35mm length. I think it's dying though because it's a bit rough to spin by hand.

I think the 180 are 20mm and the 280 are 28mm. The one thing I hate s the shaft size. My motor is nice cause I know pinions will be in stock and available in many teeth count to suit any application.

I run the Mamba 25... that is why I am hesitant to step up to a bigger motor, I'm afraid it will only cost more money by having to replace the 25.. Just curious, if my Mamba 25 happened to fry, and I happened to send it in to Castle for a replacement...would I get a MMP back? I don't think they still stock the mamba 25's. As far as that hobby city one I linked, it looks pretty good. My friend uses it. Geared 10/60 on 3s, he said it runs low 100's with about 30-40 minute runtimes. On a Rhino 1050 30C pack... Looks like a pretty good setup, I think i might go for that one. For $15, I don't really care if it fries.

They would probably send you an old re-done mamba 25 or an 18th scale sidewinder.
