I guess that setting the lvc up to 3.4 to 3.5v per cell will not hurt anything, and runtimes will not be that much less. I run 3.2v per cell across the board on all of my setups (save for the quark escs as 3 v per cell is the highest they can be set) and have never had a battery failure due to lvc issues.
I hope the new chemistry smc packs perform better than the old ones... Thanks for the info FB, and good luck!

I bet you the 'new' packs will be made with similar cells as the G3's, Neu's, and FP's, etc.
And it's great that they are taking care of you... alot of manufacturers will replace for 50% cost.

Out of curiosity, what's your gearing? It's interesting that Brian admits there's a climate related issue with some packs. All I can say is, I live on a hot, humid, tropical island where its 90+ in the day for 10 months of the year, and nothing like that has happened to my Zippys. On the other hand, I do have a 6 cell NiMh SMC pack which can barely power my Scaler Baja. Lets hope your new packs are reliable.

Just got off the phone with Bryan again at SMC, thinking about canceling my battery replacement order and just ordering some new ones, as its been taking forever for SMC to get their updated 6000mAh packs. I was surprised to learn that they arrived on the truck only 15 minutes before I called! AT LAST, the updated and replacement 6000mAh batteries have arrived from customs and are shipping out! Brian felt bad that I haven't been able to drive for almost two months, so he's upping the shipping rate to 3 day at no cost to me! SMC and Bryan, you rock!!!
My Savage Flux "Frostbyte" will be up and running soon, completely rebuilt, updated and with new pics and movies to come! Stay tuned!!

That's great news, glad you finally will be back in business. I wonder what cells their new packs are going to have in them.
Dang it, I want to know how many cell manufacturers there are, and what cells each brand uses, as well as batching, etc.
Have fun!

That is awesome service by SMC....
Their batteries used to be absolutely great, and they still are, and then they backed their good batteries with great customer service...
Nice to hear it's still the same.

Glad to know that they took care of you, after reading this whole thread. I run the 9000's 28c in an E-revo and they have been awesome. I used to run the 24c 5200 and they did good also. I was really hoping this turned out this way.
