one of my ex's worked for bestbuy and they do some shady things.

When someone goes to ask "Is the samsung or canon better?" The employees are TOLD to sell the one that makes the store more profit, not the one that is necessarily better. And if they are caught not making an effort to do so, they are penalized....i thought that was a load of CRAP

Not to mention i waited for 14 hours in line last year to get one of the 36 laptops they had. And bing 14th in line, i thought id get one. nope...somehow i didnt get one......fags....

[QUOTE=BP-Revo;335690]

What's wrong with Best Buy?

[QUOTE]

The AOL/Best Buy scam. They gave away so many free trials, but it was near impossible to cancel AOL. It took my mom 3 months of phone calls to cancel the "free trial" and they still tried charging her various fees. They were sued for hundreds of millions for that. Lawyers get richer.....

Their cable sales. $3 hdmi cables for $100 or more

Their warranties- pure garbage. If I'm buying a good product I shouldn't need this, and they wouldn't sell them unless they came out ahead.

And, when my mom called them out on an overcharge for her computer bundle, they told her they couldn't credit back her credit card(a standard chargeback) but only give her store credit.

Best Buy is for the masses not the educated.

I spent thanksgiving at my cousins house. We played 'water' pong until 2 then slept for a couple hours and headed out to best buy at 4:30am. Walmart and Sams Club parking lots were overflowing and so was best buy. We went to best buy. They used plasmas to make walls in all the aisles so people wouldn't cut in line. The checkout line snaked its way to the opposite corner of the store. We were looking for stuff, but if we stopped we just got pushed along. We ended up getting one Forrest Gump DVD for regular price. We had to stand in line for 45+min to check out.

All in all it was worth it.

I had to do all my shopping online since I'm up in our Condo.

No RC scores since I haven't touched them in a while, so I don't really need anything.

However, I did pick up up these Blurays:

V for Vendetta for $8
Disney Pixar's UP for $15
Disney Pixar's Cars for $5
X-Men Origins Wolverine for $10
Pearl Harbor for $14

Also got Call of Duty: World at War for PS3 for $20. Price dropped from $57 to $40 and I had a $20 promotional credit.

And in the process of all that, I got another $5 credit toward some on demand TV views. Yay for Amazon.com.

I was hoping a-main would have the kyosho sc listed so I could use that 10% code. Figure I am going to buy it anyways.

Not really black friday but I just stole (not literally) a S&W 686-6 357mag reveolver from some guy... He really wanted to trade for a rifle that I had... Nice gun too, 6" barrel, all stainless and factory ported. Factory houge grips.

Heres a pic (Rick Roll-Free link) http://sgcusa.com/images/large/S&W_Model_686PP_A.jpg

I saw people in tents at noon the day before, ridiculous if you ask me. I didn't bother even trying to go out there. As jay said i'd rather pay full price than wait in the lines and see grown women fight over stuff they want.

Hmm...those are some pretty intense Best Buy stories...

I'm not in love with Best Buy or anything, I was just curious as to what spawned so much negativity toward them.

Well, in any case, I generally already know what I want before I walk into the store and never fall for those expensive (and pointless) extended warranties. Stores are there to make profit and I always operate under the impression that they always try to sell me whatever makes them the most money, so in a way, none of those things seem really specific to Best Buy if you ask me.

All that aside, I still never end up buying squat at Best Buy because their stuff is usually at least 10% more than another retailer. I've had a gift card and best buy's prices are so high that usually it's cheaper to buy it from another store because I'll end up spending LESS out of pocket even though I have a gift card to best buy.

The last thing I bought at Best Buy was probably 5 years ago and it was candy...

Now I end up buying 99% of my things off Amazon.com. I have Prime (Free 2 Day shipping on almost everything) so with free shipping and no Tax, it's almost always the cheapest solution. And they have a simple, no BS return policy.

I only had one problem with them and it was when a BluRay Movie I ordered came with the case cracked/broken/crushed on one corner (since they shipped it in a bubble mailer). I called them up and they Next Day Air'd me a new one and emailed me a printable return label (via USPS so I could just leave it for my mailman) to send the other one back, so I didn't pay a penny extra.
