How big is the esc? Got some dimensions on it?

I need a decent cheapish esc with a reasonable footprint. Was gonna go with a MMpro but this looks brawnier.

I just picked up 1 of the 80amp versions. I wanted to get the # off the Fets, but found them covered by heatspreaders.

I thought I would make this last post on the Xerun 150A ecs and 2000kv motor. I finally got to the track with both the Xerun and my mmm to do a side by side comparison and with both ecs's set with similar settings I ran them both back to back two packs each. They were both ran in my RCM/D8 with the Xerun 2000kv motor geared 16/48 with 4s 5000mAh batteries. The track is a large technical one with no grooming over the winter so quite rough and allot of loose dust on a rock hard under surface. I ran AKA soft cityblocks. From a dead start the mmm is more linear not that the Xerun cogs it just sort of lurches from a dead start and after getting them both rolling under normal acceleration again the mmm was just a little smother. Where the huge difference came in was breaking, the Xerun no matter how I had it set the breaking came on harsh, the only way I could keep it from locking the tires was to make a concentrated effort to barely move the trigger forward (dead band set at it's widest) and in race conditions that ain't always easy. The mmm on the other hand had an almost abs feel to it even with higher brake settings. Temp wise I had to go by feel as I forgot my temp gun at home neither esc even got warm to the touch and the Xerun 2000kv motor just barely. With that said yesterday I sold the Xerun 150A ecs over on rctech and bought Brett's mmm he had for sale. Thanks Brett
BTW I really like the Xerun 2000kv motor so I will be keeping it
Just my .02 worth

That's too bad really since the sudden "lurching" starts and poor braking could easily be solved with firmware/programming.

Not really "too" bad, I came out of the deal with a little change in my pocket and a really good deal on the motor! As for settings I tried just about all on the Xerun from lowest to highest on the punch and the same on the brake settings. I even tried timing changes.

By "too bad", I meant too bad for the ESC. It could be a really viable alternative, but it seems like they cheaped out on software...

True story, I had high hopes for the esc as an alternative to the MMM but unfortunately it wasn't to be. Oh well! But now that I have the field link for my MMM it's much more convenient to tune track side.

I just don't get some companies. If you are going to go through all the trouble to do something, why not do it right? Otherwise, it's just a waste of time and resources.

Well said Brian, Hobbywing went all out to make their esc look like the MMM but skimped on the things that matter the most. I will give them credit for their LCD program card it's much nicer than the Castle field link, that I will give them!

I may have to bud in and disagree with the brakes and "lurching" that you state these systems do. I own two 150amp XeRun from Kershaw designs and a 80amp Ezrun from nitrorcx.com. All three have smooth acceleration and great braking performance. I have been running the 150 with a 2075 kershaw motor geared 16/48 on a tekno 8ight indoor on a carpet track and I can smooth finger it down the straight to a smooth break at the end of the straight into the hard right all day. It has plenty of adjustability as well, I can't find anything to complain about it yet. As a disclaimer I also own a MMM and 2650 on a Caster Fusion and the performance difference in my opinion is not too different, or at least not enough to make a noticeable difference.

Hmm, maybe there is an issue with radio calibration or something in georgec's setup. I didn't doubt his findings based on my experience with the older EZRun 80.

I didn't test it on carpet either! whether or not that would make any difference I'm not sure. Most of the tracks I run at are brick hard with marbles on top. As for the "lurch" it wasn't huge just irritating. I'm sure my old trigger finger isn't as nimble as it once was and that is where I found the MMM breaking to be more forgiving.

I'm running mine sensored and it's smooth as can be . I got the programming card, and had to turn my brakes up to 75% , but they seem to have good modulation before locking up with a 2wd.
