Venom stuff has always been shady for my understanding.
The website recommends 3s on their setup. The video shows it running on 4s and states its capable of 6s.
I'm sorry but most 6s setups in a boat will draw more than 60amps...

TRX finially got the boat on the website and I have to say, I'm sold !
Just emailed Horizon and scratched my P1 preorder and added the Titan. This boat is NICE !. The TRX boys have some really inovative ideas and the ESC/motor combo looks stout for RTR. Still curious about the Amp max on the ESC but will readily handle 6s ?

Second video with camera installed is really cool !

I can't wait !
I have to admit tho, the P1 is a much nicer looking boat but I can remedy that !

My son has always said he wanted a boat, but it has always been too expensive to get one with any kind of performance.
This looks like just the ticket.

I don't like Venom, but they make two boats that I love...the huge gasoline-powered King of Shaves (58", 26cc 2-Stroke Gasoline Engine) and the smaller twin-brushless-powered King of Shaves "C1" (34", Twin V380 2880kV BL Motors [3S Each] & Twin 60A Pro Marine BL ESCs [3S Each])...the ESCs can be wired together to run on a single 6S Pack!
Edit: Venom also makes a Single-Brushless Powered King of Shaves "P1" (35", V500 BL Motor [6S] & 60A Pro Marine BL ESC [6S])

We sell a lot of Venom boats at the LHS I work at, was never to inspired about much of them except the big ass KOS boat. I just fell in love with the look of the P1, I thought I had to have it but the TRX boat is much nicer designed and I think I can trust the electronics more with the TRX warrantee/customer service.

Yep, I am moving to the east side of Reno, known as Sparks where I will be a mile away from the local Marina. This will definitely be my next purchase in RC. Now if anyone would buy my freaking 8ight.

So far it looks good. My only thing I don't like is the 2056 servo which I would replace with a hitec metal gear with more torque and the batteries which I would replace with 6s lipo. Other than that nice job and the price is fantastic.
Edit: loving the hero cam vid and the sound of that motor wound out!

+1
70mph will be no problem with that setup.
the closest significant body of water to me is lake mead and it is too rough and over an hour away, so boats are out of the question for me.
am i the only one who is thinking that motor would go really nice in a buggy or light truggy? maybe a MT?
They say a good mechanic only needs 2 tools - WD40 & Duct tape. If it moves, and its not supposed to, duct tape. If it doesn't move, and its supposed to, WD40.
