Does anyone here live near to the CC head quaters? I think a little night-time recon mission is in order. A knowledge of alarm systems & door locks would come in handy....

We could get Serum to put on his anteater outfit and run around, while Dafni dances on a table, that should give the guards enough to watch while the rest of us get in and out
Work because i gotta, play because i wanna
People here hate Nitro, I love it. I start it, run it about 50 ft from me and it dies, I go after it. Perfect exercise

What about getting a job there, then conducting some industrial espionage....

Hey guys I have not been following the thread, but heres an awesome update.
I was talking to CC today about my 1/18 BL because it was having problems, so I decided to ask about the MMM.
He explained how they are in the testing process and trying to find nice motors (2 pole) that are within budget. They were working out a deal with Neu, but the final price ended up being too high, and Mike the head of Neu was not looking to expand his company much larger.
They thought about feigao, but wanted a more quality motor. Apparently they found some great motors from a company that sells them at a good price, and are currently in testing. These motors are 2 pole sensorless, and they are aiming for the price range comparable to the HV-Maxx.
He explained how way back in the day when castle wanted to start making BL setups for cars, everyone said...Theres no way it would move, brushless isnt possible. Eventually after testing there were so many esc's and motors fried, to fill up a 50 gallon barrel! Now, obviously it has exploded in popularity. In the last year, the amount of sales has DOUBLED, puting CC at the top of the line for aircraft and car controllers.
All in all, it gives a good insight as to what the design and price is going to be. I hope that helped...I also got some nice specs on the MM i will post.

I would like to know what this mystery BL motor supplier is, sounds very intrigueing. *goes to do thorough search for BL motor manufacturers*

I believe it was some overseas manufacturer...not sure. He mentioned a lot of brushless systems, he said there was one that was junk that was comparable to a feigao except with a foreign name. Apparently this company has the specs they are looking for.

redhatman, I don't find that to be good news at all. It looks like Castle is back peddling now. At first, they had us all in suspense with this MMM system. Then the word was that it was going to be a nice four poler similar to a Neu. Now we're hearing that they can't come up with a motor so they're going to sub it out to some foreign manufacturer.
If that's the case, who's gonna buy a MMM system at the price point of an HV Maxx system when they could buy a MM with a Feigao for around $200.
If Castle wants to break into the large scale market, perhaps they should concentrate on what they do well, and this is controllers. If the controller is ready, let's have it. I'll be quite PO'd if I've been waiting all of this time just so that they can stick a mediocre made in China motor in the box with the controller. We already have the Feigaos, with all of their problems and then there are the Align motors with the rotors that self destruct and shafts that snap.

Who says it's a made in china product Aangel? perhaps it's a German manufacturer. Who knows. I guess time will tell, it's not hard to judge the brand of motor once they launch it. my guess is they are aiming for segmented magnets. that's the only reason what makes the feigao motors less good.

I will chime in with my two cents on CC quality. I have purchased three MM ESCs. My first purchase was shortly after the product was released for sale to the public. I recently purchased two additional units. I have to say that I was a little disappointed. It appears that Castle has made a few trade-offs with regards to quality in an effort to meet demand and keep pricing low. Maybe its just minor stuff...but I noticed the quality of wire and the solder joints were not as good as earlier models. I hope the MMM doesn't follow that approach. BTW...I also have a few Mamba 25s and I noticed similar deficiencies there. Has anyone else seen this? What are your thoughts?

I wonder...has Monster Mike established enough of a following to R&D and market his own signature line of ESC? I know folks have talked but it seems to me that there is ample expertise here to atleast design a good product. The problem is getting it thru production and to market...
I can't speak for everyone, but I know I don't mind spending top dollar as long as I know I'm getting the best product.

I havent seen that but I sure can see what you are talking about, meaing I understand why that might happen. Castle's business has doubled in the last year, and they are most likely very busy, and would rather just produce them cheap and fast, then repair later down the road. Of course they probably don't plan on it, but they are probably aware of it.
