Rene, I was thinking about that and the built-in BEC should take care of the voltage for the controller brains. So as long as the voltage limit for the regulator is not exceeded (and 35-40v is very common), the only components that you'd have to be careful not to overvolt are the input caps and FETs.

some more info on the MMM... - 02.24.2007, 01:09 AM

So today I was working at the WRAM show and I decided to stop by the CC booth before the show opened. I asked Joe Ford about the MMM and he said we should expect it by the summer, the motors should be good for 2000-2500 watts of power, and there would possibly be 2 versions; one that is "standard" and good for 6s lipo and one that will be "HV" good for 12s lipo. Sadly they didn't have any MMM esc's that I could buy now:005:...

Off topic:
There should be a update for the MM soon that will let it run all novak, lrp and neu motors. (Joe Ford said that the MM should run the Neu's fine now, but with an occasional hiccup)

Bye:018:

That sounds like business! that HV will set a new standard for real HV setups...

Crap, this means that if you want to go extreme, you need a 12S+ monster..

Damn...12S...thats insane...I hope this thing comes out before summer...

EDIT: 2000+ watts? Thats more than a 1950 (which is 1800w). So this means that the MMM setup is going to be faster than a 1950?

Then whats the point in spending 350 bucks on a motor when you can just spend about the same amount for the whole system (assuming the MMM is about 300-350 bucks).

Boy, I hope "by summer" means it will be out by summer. To me, summer starts in June and therefore puts the MMM out by the end of May.

I just hope that's CC's interpretation too.

Basically, if it comes out before July, I'll be happy. lol

So, did he give any further info on the Neu compatability? Did he say it's limited to any motors at all? Specifically the 1515? Thanks.

That is pretty cool. I guess that means I may have a replacement esc if my
fails. Sweet. Just what the monster ordered. :D

Peace!

He said they should run fine. I ran my 1515 with the MM tonight for like 5 min. and there was no cogging at low low speeds. Also, I talked with Joe again today and he said the MMM esc is basically done, the motor is what they are working on; should be 85%+ efficiency(they are modeling it after the NEU's)
