seriously hate most of you...
I'm stuck in rural MT, 500 yds outside of the cable internet area, so I get crappy DSL for stupidly high price.
This was measured with the youtube speed tester. I like it, since it measures while you are watching vids and what nots. Currently away from home, will post up a speedtest.net later if I remember

I have the fastest aDSL available here in my city, which is crazy slow...only 6. 0MBs, but tests rarely show the full 6MB Speed...
Rumor has it that AT&T will be upgrading from their current 6MB Limit to 12MBs, and maybe even Max of 60MBs...one can only hope!
EDIT: But, I guess 6MBs is a lot better than the 56KBs of the old Dial-Up Modem Days, heh!

Reason: Had to put in information about the old DIAL-UP days...

Mine sucks as well....

That would be great if AT&T would upgrade to 12MB. We have the 6.0 service but never ever get close to 6 down, maybe 5.3 at the most on a good day.

Yea, same here...I think the closest I have ever come to getting the actual advertised 6.0MBs was when AT&T (it was BellSouth then) first offered the new "6.0MBs aDSL Service" and I had a dedicated DSL line run directly to my Den next to my main Computer, which netted me 5.98MBs!

Now, just curious, but what do you use that bandwidth for? My speed is around 7Mb/1Mb and unless I'm downloading a Linux ISO or decide to expose my web/SQL server to the outside world, I really don't see where I would truly benefit from more.

This is the cheapest internet available from Airnet which is the only supplier in my area. Its nice to be able to download an Bluray full HD movie in a few inutes when my friends come over. I also like watching youtube vids in hd without waiting till it loads. Other than that I don't really need this speed.
Here, try this video on Original quality:

Multi-Threaded Apps would be blisteringly/blindingly fast with almost 100MB/s Down and close to the same Up!!!
