Be careful I am 99% positive you cannot use any reciever with the Airtronics transmitter. Remember there is positive and negative shift rx's and not all are compatible.

I am not talking about the servo leads, I mean the same reason you cannot use a Futaba RX with a JR transmitter.

problem is, ive had range issues using nimh x8 so i had to use 9x nimh to fix this (i had dead energizers which wouldnt hold their voltage.)

lipo = best option. u could do it if you can cut out that plastic bit and move anything which is housed in it at the moment, u may need 2 flat packs as the pack ive got is like a square (cost $16 from HC)

not hard to undo a few screws to see if theres anything important in the way. then u can re-assess the idea.

i tried... and failed- tried to make as much room as i possibly could, lipo was just tooo wide. so i ended up making an extension for the power connector inside the controller and mounting the lipo on the front portion of the radio's foot.. i know its not the cleanestsetup bbut it works like a charm

My latest dilema is battery placement..

Right now with the battery far back it makes for great wheelies but horrible handling
A few options..

-mount the battery inlin with the chassis, the back resting agains the motor plate.. it moves the weight to the center of the truck and further forward.

-Mount the battery on the front of the truck, in front of the pinion and spur gear on top of the tvp's. weight is further forward by a longshot..

anyone have any input?
