Gears for adapter:

Works like a charm. I replaced my home made adpater a year ago with this one.

I can't decide if its more fun
to make it...
or break it...

This is true. Not through the website and normal payment methods(every time I have, i get burned). If a bank or money transfer can be arranged, I have no problem sending a package, but after losing thousands of dollars to Thailand orders in past years, we decided to simply not ship there using the normal methods available(site won't accept orders from Thailand).
Orders from Thailand go like this:
1. email me the items requested
2. Pay via bank or money transfer
3. Hope the items arrive -I always honor my shipping commitments, but can't speak for the shipping agents - Thailand is unfortunately a difficult country to deal with in many ways(high fraud rate, poor shipping execution, etc.)

Impakt carries some of our items, but not all. Surely you can send a request to Dan for any of my products and he can order it in(I have an order in process for them right now, actually). :)

Ok! I received the ESC and motor while I was away on a short vacation. I have "mocked everything up" but will wait until I do some modifications to start fastening everything to the chassis. I also need a steering servo and probably a Rx. I can not wait to get this thing opened up in the 'ol parking lot .

Robert,

Looks REALLY good. Did you get the stainles tubing I sent you? Let us know how the slicks work out. I like my treaded tires.

Thanks! I did receive the SST tubing--thanks so much for sending. I think I will alternate between the slicks and the stock treads and see which I like. Did you wind up ordering a different body and have it painted?

I just read the whole thread. Top speed was discussed a few pages back so I'm a late on this. I have a DM-1 Pro and I been drag racing it last year. I'm using a neu 1515 2y on 12s with 51t spur and 25t pinion. I don't know what my top speed is but the fastest I've gotten at 132ft is 72.4mph at 2.2sec. RC cal says 88mph so I think I can get higher. The most amps I pulled was 114. I went digging around and found a video of one of the races last year: http://img532.imageshack.us/my.php?image=july5thfv4.flv . My car is the black one.

Thanks! I have the servo on the way and will be well on my way to finishing this beast . . .

I am still debating the HPI D-Box since I do not have experience with these drift assist devices.

You are going to like the GTP...I also have one of those and they are fun to drive too. They don't handle quite as well and the tires break loose easier but still manageable. Here's the link if you want to see mine:
http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18148

Since those photos, I have installed a brace that connects the rear diff bulk to the center diff top brace. This should reduce the chassis flex and hopefully clear up some of the handling issues.

A little progress . . . - 02.15.2009, 08:48 PM

Ok. I have been really busy with work and grad school so I have not been working too much on the conversion. I received the steering servo yesterday and found a good deal on a Futaba R603FF 2.4GHz FASST Rx--gotta love the digital stuff.

Anyway, I have raised the motor top plate as recommended by SSSP and bolted up the 51T spur. I still have to take some time in our model shop to cut the SST tubing to prevent solid spool from shifting. Looks like I will extend the grub notch on the shaft the Neu if I stick with the Novak pinions. Also, I need to find some of that 10AWG wire that CC uses on the MMM. Check it out . . .
