I have customers coming in wanting to purchase the systems every day this last week and nothing.
Me too. I'm extremely frustrated. I'm about to make heads roll. Seriously.

Well, at least they started to update from the product pages, you can buy the ESC and the Motor, but seperate.
No sign indeed of a combo and no sign of their conversion kit seperate either.

But its a start I guess :) but still, give em hell!!!

At least you can understand my frustration :).. I jumped in line early and even asked for overnight shipping to make sure I received things quick. Still no notification of shipping so hope for Saturday delivery by USPS is probably not happening, it looks like it's another week. I'm leaving town for a while, didn't expect to get to the point where I'll miss it before I go but that seems to be the case...

I want the whole combo right now too, really bad, but am going to wait until at least May.

I got one of the first MMM v1's back when they came out. We all know the problems alot of those had. I almost lost an entire truggy in it's meltdown. This was when a Polyquest 4s was $260.00, Tekno/Neu 1515 was $260.00 and the truggy was almost new. When the esc went the battery leads were melted off and were 1-2mm from touching each other, that would have really sucked.

Now I won't run anything but Castle, they make the best product with the best price IMHO.

My plan is to wait, see how things go, see what problems need/get fixed, if any, because no way am I going to watch $1500.00+ of Baja, esc, motor and batteries go up in flames.

Hopefully there won't be any bugs, hopefully everything goes smooth as glass. I've ended up being a corporate "beta" tester one too many times to go for the first in line anymore.

Can't wait to see pics of these beasts though, should be awesome.

I'm planning on using two 4s 5000mah 35c packs. RC Driver was using the 150c maxamps packs. Even for a maxamps dealer those do not run cheap. two 35C gonna be ok? I personally run 30-40C in my 1/8th truggy. I have sold some 60C to customers and i just thought that was overkill. A customer wants what they want. Any opinions on this? I've now have multiple mamba xl on backorder.

RR, I'm going to use 2x 5000 4S 40C packs as well. I plan on backing down the packs to something lighter like the turnigy Nanotech 2650mah 45-90c packs. The beauty of the XL aside from 8S to me is the data logging. Once I have dialed the XL in for the performance I want, I'll have a real good idea of the capacity and C rating I'll need to keep the lipos happy and healthy :-)

P.s. 150C packs... right, maybe after I verify that number with the tooth fairy.

We've been running 2x6S 5000mah 40C packs, and they don't get very warm.

The C ratings vary so much from manufacturer to manufacturer, that I don't feel comfortable saying that they will be good or not... but if they are good quality 35C packs, I would think they will be sufficient.

2x6S packs, is that with the current Mamba XL in parallel or the upcoming HV version in series?

The Mamba XL runs up to 8S, not 12S.

The Mamba XL-HV will run up to 12S, but we are probably 3 months from release on the XL-HV.

Thanx!

Patrick

Motor alone: http://www.castlecreations.com/products/2028_motor.html
ESC alone: http://www.castlecreations.com/products/mamba_xl.html

This is very exciting! althought I will wait and see the experiences posted on the board from the pics and films :)
