I agree with you there skellyo. Unfortunately, I can't do more runs with 5s packs as I just took em apart to make 4s packs lol.

If you look at those graphs tho, the spikes are fairly uniform, and look at the lower spikes. The lower ones are much higher on average for the MM than for the MMM. It seems that it only pulls lots of power when its at full throttle.

I did do a few extra runs at the track the day is was doing the graphs, but I was all over the place and didn't want to risk my DPR incase it was damaged when I flipped the car over or something :D

I'm sure some other people must have compared the 2 ESC's so maybe they'll chuck their data up for everyone as well. I just wanted to see if those results were to be expected by people or not, is all.

Just repeat the tests about 4 or 5 times with the 4S packs. That'll work.

Hey! It's nice an sunny here today, not a rain cloud in sight, having said that I do waterproof all my electronics so that I can run through puddles and in the rain without any worries.

I must be missing something here with these graphs and your stated runtime. The MM shows a lower peak current as well as a lower average current draw - I get that(still not enough info to conclusively make any accurate determinations). But...the posted MMM graph only shows 512mah of usage for a 2 minute run, yet you say you are only getting 3 minutes of runtime? My math says you should get nearly 9 minutes at that average current draw (15.5amps)with a 2300mah pack. I say we need a longer run graphed out in order to make any sense of the comparison - a few complete runs on each setup would be helpful, actually, but something isn't adding up. :)

I'm with Mike on that one. Coming from a science background I know how misleading just single results/measurements can be. Try to reproduce those graphs, and post full runs if you can. That would give more information.

Evening all, happy 4th of July for all the peeps from the US of A! :D

Sorry I haven't updated this in ages, haven't had time to hit the track and play with different setups. Also I had de-soldered the CCBECs from the MMs in preparation for sale so the CBF factor was quite high. I never quite got to putting them up for sale tho :D.

I'm hoping to get out to the track tomorrow, so I'll give the revo a few runs with each ESC and hopefully remember to record the results.

Well it is rather long :(. Almost 20cm. I had a thought when I was making the extensions that the extra length might increase resistance and therefore amp draw, but the MMM wires were so long and phat, I figured it was negligible.

Did I make a boo boo? :D

I had to do the same thing(extended my wires about 3" and use the 6.5mm connectors) I dont have a control to compare to but considering the power and wire size I am working with I dont think its an issue

There is a difference in total Fet's Rdon between MM and MMM, but such drop (60A vs 85A) I would relate to power connectors. Unless battery and motor wires were soldered in both cases.
Simplified calc, due to similar (close to be identical) setup:
16V/60A=0.267Ohms
16V/85A=0.188Ohms

0.267Ohms-0.188Ohms=0.079Ohms -> too high value for Fet's difference (5 vs 6 Fet's, even if only one is good). While 10-30mOhms for connectors is normal.

Temperature wise both ESC's and motor were close to each other, right?
