I have it pretty much built =) i have a few other bits and pieces i wanna add to it to finalise things, but i have holidays in the next month, so will wait til i get back to start breaking the bank again -lol-

Things to come (off the top of my head)

4 bevel gear diffs
Hardened output cups all round
Alum tranny case
Alum steering assembly
FLM Extended Arm Set
3 Speed to play round with (on the way)
big joes on 23mm cheyennes (on the way)
Will prolly look into some axial or maximiser beadlocks or something and maybe try out the XL Terra Pins
New bearings all round
Lipos
RC Raven progressive LST springs

thats all i can think of for now - bed time! night night =)

I got a lil bit done with the rx mount too... just screwed a 6mm piece of material i had laying round - forget what it's called, but it's probably less than a gram in weight and strong as - i can barely bend it with my hands, but it dents easily - wierd stuff...

anyways - i screwed it through using the screws and countersunk head washers FLM gave me for the brake servo, and used the Savage Shock Spacers that came with the FLM shock towers, and it fits perfect =) No binding on the steering arms or anything... some pics =)

This is gonna be the neatest truck you've ever seen when it's totally completed =)

At RCX here in SoCal I saw that Mike had a 2230 mounted in his Losi 8t, and he did make some adapter plate for it. So it's been done, and he's done it, don't see why he can't do it again!

Can't wait to see it finished. I remember seeing a thread about the FLM center skid being too long on the older savages- was there any modifications you had to do or additional parts you had to buy?

holy crap, i have been wondering why that happened! -lol-

I actually have it mounted the same way as normal - although, as it sits in the last picture - you can see the bottom FLM skid running along the bottom of the chassis... it doesn't tuck under the front and rear skids how it is supposed to i dont think... It's flush - but flush with the opposite side of the FLM skid that it's supposed to be........

screw this trying to explain it with text thing - my brain can't get around such a task -lol- I'll get some pics up for you tonight, as i have to get going to work now =) I reckon it could be easily modded to fit - i just didn't have time to look into it yet =)

That was a major turn from trash to flash.

-lol- from stock form to what is is now? hell yeah =) it was filthy, and covered in dust/dirt and oil - most of it was actually in pretty good nick tho, just dirty as, and a lil rusty in some parts, but all that will be replaced anyway =)

Here's some shots of the problems and how i fixed em with regards to the centre skid issue - most of it is pretty self explanatory =)

This is how i had it mounted at first... i just used some small spacers so i didn't bend it TOO much - pretty dodgey i know - but i fixed it good now hehehe

Pretty easy and quick fix to make - just mount it lightly so it sits in place - score it with a blade - take it off and cut it - put it back on, and all is nice and flush =)

I have heard the center plates dont fit right. It is odd though because mine never had a problem. Fits perfectly. Oh well easy fix for you ic though.

Figure i should update this thread - it's been a while hehehe - it's slowly coming together - but between me trying to save for a house now, xmas and a couple family bdays coming up, and the aussie dollar being so shyte lately - money is kinda hard to come by lately - but it WILL be finished some time soon! -lol-

Clearly dont need everything on the list below to get it running, but things left on my checklist for this truck that i can think of now are as follows....

*ESC - TBA - MGM Compro 160-25 - possibly lucianos depending on mounting possibilities... depends on lipos below...
*Motor Mount adaptor for Lehner 2230 - On its way now
*Lipos - Not REAL sure yet - will be 6 or 8S - 6S clearly an easier fit and much nicer on my pocket tho... Most likely Poly RC 6S 6000mah 25C packs
*HPI One Piece Rear Hubs
*HPI Front Knuckles/Hubs
*Steel Spur combos
*RC4WD Alum Rockstar beadies w/Imex 44 series treads
*Lunsford Hingepins - on the way now
*HD Axles

And i THINK thats it... OH! I have a 3speed tranny here too, so may get those bright red dual fibre disc brakes for that tranny if i ever feel the need to swap it out for the 3speed/mech brakes - i'll have to figure out if the alloy tranny box fits the 3speed, and maybe get another one of them too hehehe =) I have a spare 7955tg here aswell, but may save that for the lst's steering duties =)

Got some old shots of the screw kit i got that i never got round to uploading... it's a crapload smaller than i kinda thought it was gonna be... for some reason i had in my mind it was gonna be a fair amount bigger than this!!

FLM Arm kit arrived friday night =)

Changed the towel on my work table as you will see :D .........

But i just realised the thread hanging out of the top ext arm is wobbly, causing some play at the hubs.... any advice on that??

Made me a new stand for the truck - used PVC pipe/t-pieces and some dense-ish foam that i wrapped round the posts and taped with black cloth tape =)

Still got a bit to go, but it's looking more and more 'whole' as time slowly passes... and i mean it when i say slowly! -lol-
