In some ways it's great because it allows any John Doe to join in the fun easily - sorta like the Nitro RTRs - and drive a decent quality e-RTR. I'm sure many people just want a rc car they can play with and not spend as much time obsessing over as we do.

But, in another way it will definitely deminish the WOW! factor of the creations we have been building for the past few years.

At least they're not packaging it with a so-so servo and piece-o-cr@p radio system that you have to pay for and then rip out.

I really want to see how thee motors go so I can spec my buggy the same.

Looking at it I think it is going to be really close to the neu 1515 1y. Maybe I should get one one of those but it will be complete overkill.
And Losi recommend their 4S 5000mah battery for this kit

Yep, same price as the Kyosho MP9

Losi Kit $430
BL Kit $100
ESC/Motor $320
It is pretty much the same as just converting one though but then there is the body and probably other little things

No matter how you slice it, this is great news for the electric community. It will allow loads of people to buy a box and be running Electric 1/8th. It will likely usher in more purpose built vehicles (not just pre-conversions) and likely spur development in batteries - and hopefully some kind of a quick-change system!

It's a good day and a great time to be into this hobby.

I don't mind that it look's the same as a lot of conversions, at least we know the layout works well already. Plus I don't know how they could make it so it doesn't look like a conversion without making it worse than a conversion, like doing what traxxas would do and give it a weird shape plastic chassis.
The motor mount is different to anything I've seen before, it looks good. Looks like it will make changing gear mesh or taking out the motor a lot easier since you just slide that center piece out without messing with L shaped allen keys.

So what if its a conversion already!!! We drive the market and we are converting. Losi is listening. All you snowmobilers* out there know exactly what I'm talking about. Now all we have to do is buy the factory...read: clean! conversion kit for less than the Novak hack up kit. Impact has it for $79 and change. Done! Now we can concentrate on how this dang KB45 is going to fit!!!

Admit it your just upset we don't have the edge on converted 8's anymore.

Speak for yourself, I still have "the edge" on everyone who buys a losi e eight (not dumb enough to spend 879 bucks that way)... Or the conversion kit (I can make my own stuff, which is more fun)...

Nice looking kit, but it is not the be all and end all of brushless electric.

I am glad the mfgs are bringing this stuff out, maxamps will make more money for advertising!

Alot of rumors are going around about a 8IGHT 2.0 going around and by the sounds of things it is true. Wonder if the conversion kit will still work with it

Killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I have to get another one!!!!

All the forums are saying the same thing, "Yuk a conversion...stupid Losi". What were they suposed to do...ignore the MASSIVE swing the market is taking toward 1/8 BL conversions? Just do a search of "insert model" BL conversion and prepare for your vista crash.

This is a good thing it means the manufactures are listening to us and are making an attempt to meet out needs. When was the last time any one person said, "hey AE, TL, DTX, Trx, Mudg, HPI, HB, etc do this...." and they all did?

The people said,"more run time!!! presto NiMh, so the people said," MORE!!!!!" presto - Li-Po!!!!. Get it? If this stuff doesn't happen our little hobby goes bye-bye.

They are on this forum and all the other forums (just like Castle). They're listening. Don't worry something new will come out, it has too, it always has and always will, but for now just be quiet and feel the power!!!!!! We did this!!!!
