that is sweet. Make me want to do a dual 7xl version. I just not sure if I could get enough gearing on it. I like the looks of it.

Peace!

How do you like the revo tires? I guess that is what they are. I am suprised you don't have driveline problems. I run close to your setup but with a 7xl and 18 cells.

I never claimed to be sane. :C: :D

The RDLs actually have broke on me allready. I have repaired them and havn't had a problem since. The pin that attatches them to the cup broke (on all 4!)so I put in a beefier one.

Yah those are Revo rims and tires coolhand, they are a little taller than the Road Rages that I had on before and believe it or not, they don't really baloon that bad. I prefer them over the rages for top speed runs. I even did the duct tape on the inside of the rages.

Coolhand. Anyone who drag races a pickup truck has to have some kind of sanity issues!:C:

Whats up Johnny, I just moved from newport to norco. Glad to see your project is going well. I need to buy some lippo's for my 7xl. 8 min. of runtime just isnt enough. Mabey soon, I just got an email from maxamps for 15% everything if you are a member

No not for awhile. We moved and had a baby so been a little busy. I was just in the garage to find the box with my emaxx. I still have to go threw to see what needs to be fixed or put to gether still. I think I installed the new metal tranny gears, but cant remember if I put humpty dumpty back together again. I have been putting it off because of the short runtimes. The amount of time it takes to get it back on the road, compared to 8 min runtime is a big differance. I will be getting my money pit out of the garage and see if I am up to working on that project instead of the 1000 other ones I have. I am looking at going with 2 18.5v lipo's. 4200mah, to give me 8400mah. Sure is alot more people running the 7xl now. When I got mine everyone was running the 9l. I will probally have to recondition my 18 gp3300 becuase they have been sitting so long.

Concrats on the Baby!!

in the meantime, G-maxx has got a single speed conversion in production and Mike has got hardened steel idlers, in case you need them.

That is some serious runtime you are aiming at with those 8400 mAh's..! you have got the CF gmaxx frame, so you could use these to hold the batteries in place.

Tranny? - 11.11.2005, 04:33 PM

It looks to me as if the tranny is swapped around (backwards so to speak...) I was considering doing the same to get the wiring towards the back of the chassis to help shorten the amount of wiring...and keep the ESC in the back.

I finally got a 7XL myself (waiting like so many folks for the 9920's to come back into stock...) and man o'live those wires are beefy...that's another reason I would like them going towards the back of the truck.....

Anyway I was thinking all I would have to do is to reverse the tranny in the chassis, and since I building new diffs at the same time....just build them with the ring gear on the other side....setup like a tmaxx diff....

I realize I'll need to be creative with the servo linkage for the 1st/2nd gearing but thought that shouldn't be too tough...

Input, thoughts? Yes, that's right I'm a newbie!

Hey Ryan, congrats on the baby, I have a 10 month old myself.
I actually live by the Norco borderline (River & Corrydon). I havn't found any good spots to drive these thing around here, have you? I took my T-Maxx over to where they are building a new high school by Riverside CC off Hamner. I broke a drive shaft 5 mins. into it and havn't been back since.

clisbyt,
Yah I did turn my tranny around to shorten the wires. If you look close in the picture, you can see my rig job on the shift servo. Hey, it works. :D

Hey thanks, you to. I live on Cedar, by the norco plunge/cumunity center off of norco drive. I havent looked in a while but I tried to go drive in the norco hills one time and found out it was all houses. I used to live on Bluff street between Vine and River. There is a service road (edison) that goes to the river bottom you might check there. When I get mine running again I will be looking for some spots, so Ill let you know. My favorites where allways bike jumps!!!
