That stuff is pretty cool. I remember when Metallica played with the symphony a while back. To be honest though, it's not something I'd be caught listening to. What can I say? My musical tastes have hardened over the years...

We had 2 girls come to our school on student exchanges at different times. They were both blonde and both hot. They were both pretty pissed though as our school system seemed to be a fair way behind theirs.

At first I was kind of "dissapointed", I was expecting a bit more amusing ideas of what sweden is like and you guys seemed to have a pretty good idea of sweden, not quite spot on but still kind of close. But then it poped up a few things that wasn´t really true and a few other things that gave me bit of a laugh

From what I have heard you all speak spanish???
|
Nope, we don´t speak spanish, we speak swedish. If you want to hear what it sounds like you should listen to this, it´s from a swedish webradio station ( http://www.slayradio.org ) that specializes in commodore 64 music/remixes. They got a dj from england and thought that they would teach him some swedish so they set up a few lessons for him and the result was really funny, I really laughed my ass of
I guess it´s funnier if you know swedish but I still think that you`ll get a laugh from it

He he, thats holland you´re referring to and not sweden

The blonde blue eyed hot girl thing is a myth - most are brunette's.
|
Well, we do have a fair deal of blondes with blue eyes but it´s a myth that ALL swedish people are blond. I guess it´s more common with brunettes but I´d guess the ratio would be about 40/60

Apocalyptica is from finland. But scandinavians seem to be kind of close to each other, I feel pretty close to norweigans, the danish and finnish people as well. Seems almost like we´re just coming from diffrent parts of the same country even if it is diffrent countries

The bank accounts is probably in Switzerland, they´re kind of famous for that and lego comes from denmark. But thats pretty close anyway

He he, metal is really big here in sweden, Meshuggah and Opeth (my favourite) are a few of our pride and joys in the metal scene. A few other would be At the gates, Soilwork, In flames and quite a lot of others, there really is a lot of great swedish metal bands.
Incidently, you might have heard of a few band from my home town? You might have heard of Nasum and Coldworker but the biggest bet (since you´re from australia) would be Millencollin, I´ve heard that they´re pretty big "down under"? I sometimes run in to a few of those guys when I´m out on the town.
I´d really like to have Opeth, Meshuggah or any similar band playing at the local pub any day of the week, that would be awesome

Your my favourite person now! I just saw opeth here, and am seeing meshuggah in about a month
Not a fan on in flames, and I had no idea millencollin were swedish lol! I used to be a fan, but am more in the metal scene these days.
One day I will live in sweden...My friend just moved to denmark and I plan to visit in the next few years can't wait to be there.
Oh, I just thought of another thing swedish. (and this one is a little weird) Electrolux Assistent! Stupid mixer is like the ultimate mixer for making pizza dough, but only exists in the states (magic mill) and sweden! Noone has ever heard of it here! Even the electrolux reps!

You´re right there, scandinavia is actually sweden, norway and denmark. What I really should have said is that NORDIC people seems quite close to each other but it seems to me that mostly we include finland in everyday language when we talk about scandinavia even if it´s wrong. At least I do that

By the way, that´s pretty cool that your planing to move to sweden
I´m not really a fan of Millencollin either since I´m into metal myself just as you. I used to think they where ok but I wouldn´t say I´ve ever been a fan of them. And when it comes to In flames I´d say that their old albums are much better than the new ones, the later ones is just not as heavy as old ones. But I still think that they´re ok
