OK - don't laugh - but back in my 20's I couldn't afford a good Fluke so I got an almost top of the line Radio Shack multi-meter. It may not be the best, but it has done a nice job and lasted me for at least 10 years so far.
Actually it would be a $4 meter plus a plane ticket or gas, $5 if you want it shipped. Sorry, I couldn't help myself....
I dont exactly get it, $4 or 3 miles drive (maybe more for some but there are alot of outlets nationwide) but its its $5 plus shipping, probably another $5, then you cant hand pick more bargains as you are there. No one can resist a titanium allen set for $3.99

Ouch. I'm not saying it's not a bargain, but for me, it is far enough away that I would save money paying for shipping. So I guess my "joke" does not apply for everyone.
Fluke multimeter for me too. It does everything I need plus some.
