My son was so impatient before but learned the virtue mainly by understanding what it takes to learn how to drive, wait for replacement parts from the mail, replace and fix parts that was broken. I always tell him the joy of driving his truck has its own flipside of being angry after parts get broken.
Either way, your boys will learn to appreciate what they have and what you're doing for them. Not a lot of fathers spend quality time with their kids for whatever reason they might have. I know I learned the meaning of quality time after being out at sea for much of my Navy career.
