Neu 15-series motors DO fit without modification to an FLM transmission. I put a 1515 on my plastic transmission and had to do some serious modifications. My 1506 fits my FLM tranny without modifications.

Yeah, those lipos alone weigh about what the Rustler does with my 1506 in it then there's the weight of the 1515. In that picture I was running 22/54 but after that I went up to 24/34 or so. My trim and alignment was still off when I removed the motor but it was breaking 50 MPH without a sweat and it was snapping stub axles every run.

Did you do the full undercarriage inspection?

A few times while it was actually running reversed (~40% throttle). When I had it corrected to get 100% power while going forwards I could hit WOT for short periods but with that kind of power and a bad alignment it was hard to control.

He probably tweaked the chassis while he was down there

I really dont see the point of putting a cc 2200 combo in a rustler...?

Neither do I. It's highly impracticle, I put my 1515 in there because I had just pulled it out of my E-Revo and it was headed for my Muggy and I wanted to see what it could do in a Rustler. IMO a Neu 1509 is the biggest motor you'll need in a Rustler unless you're going for some serious speeds (a 1509 should be enough to push you to 90 or so). I've got a 1506 in my Rustler geared for 40ish on 2s lipo and it's an incredible motor. Gear it up and I have no doubt it'll do 70-80 MPH. It's got the spunk and driveability of a MM 5700 motor with more torque than a VXL.

I saw a video of a Novak HV4.5 in a rustler on not even lipo (12 cells nimh). It was screaming, but it wasn't long until one of the rear tires ripped in half.
