I didn't know you were going to use a Hobbywing esc... can't see it lasting too long. I would contact Lutach and get his HV esc, should do a much better job at throwing that car around.

BTW, as far as the power calcs go, each cell can do 2.8v/cell @ 70 amps typically. So whatever size pack you are using, use those specs as a base line when calculating how many cells you want to use.

Just to be redundant- that HW ESC isn't going to do well at all. Maybe give the new turnigy monster-2000 a try? That would work oh-so nicely.

If it has the same throttle and brake response as the car ESC the manufacturer sent me, he will be one pissed of person.

Hey guys... dont be so ... **?/...

My mate got his Serpent 960 converted to brushless... he used other 240A ESc..(which cost him 400 buck)..and get his brushless 960 up to 104kph....

with the same set up... but dif. ESc.. (this time Hobbywing EZrun 150A)....his car now up to 134kph... brake..perfectly...

But anyway.... first i will try with this HW ESC and 6s A123... next It will be with 12S A123 n 12S aircraft ESc... and then with 6s Lipo and 10S lipo...for sure...will keep u guys posted

We're not being cocks deliberately, just being cautious about the esc- it works great when it works, but the failure rate is higher compared to the MMM from what I've seen.

conversion completed.... hope it's not raining this weekend... im not worried about ESC brake failure.. coz im gonna use car own brake... as later on im gonna run that with 12S power pack and 12S aircraft ESC... and 12s ESC doesnt have brake.... car mech brake...always my 1st choice...

Good looking project there. what do you think of the 2wd? i had a 1/5 Smartech 2wd on rd i just started to tear down to convert last week but i ended up selling it on ebay just 2 days ago. i decided to wait and do a different conversion with 4wd.
your build looks clean though. great work. keep us posted on performance specs as you add/change betteries and esc. 67kph isnt very fast for a brushless 1/5 on road. i would think about 105kph (=65mph) would be ideal. i am sure you wont have a problem hitting that speed with the right batteries and esc setup. keep it up.

I want one, it looks so fun to drive on tarmac; doesnt want to do barrel rolls when you pitch it into a turn like my Gmaxx does...
